Hiya!
Hippy gnu autumn, an all that!
Of late, my ears have been - temperature-wise, at least - quite cool
Thanks for the heads-up...
So... you AND ~jwf~ remember me...
_That_ is "kewl"

Um... yeah... if you can release your grip on that Canadian Club for long enough to scroll up two whole posts, you'll see a (non-skin specific) link

It is not only racially sanitized it leads only to your last post there rather than the top of that wonderful seven year conversation, ie: where we're coming from.

That's an impressive thread. Almost a pity it's going to go to two pages.
six7s, are you really an aussie?

six7s Posted Mar 10, 2009
Nope
I lived there for a couple of years - wouldn't complain if I had to go back
Great country - literally and figuratively
And I do quite like the wine
But no, I ain't no steekin' Aussie, mate!
Methinks ~jwf~ needs a nudge

One Kiwi, two K...
Hey what`s the plural of Kiwi.
It already sounds plural.
I can`t bring myself to suggest Kiwheeze.

No, please don't One kiwi, two kiwi, three kiwi...*
Te reo Maori has no 's' as plural, nor any 's' at all in fact.
The kiwi singular = te kiwi
The kiwi plural = nga kiwi
(I think).
* and one kea, two kea, three kea, although you might find one more than enough.

Your timing is impeccable. Your posting arrived here at exactly midnight just as the clock struck out the new day, the First of May. This kind of attention to detail does not go unnoticed, as I am fully aware that it must have been by then almost May 2 where you are.
And, I am led to believe, in May, winter is a-coming on down under.
I am convinced that this seasonal difference (as has often been discussed here-about concerning the context of individual experience) is what makes conversation so difficult between antipodeans and the people of the old northern whirled.
Here I am enjoying the long awaited first few days of warmer weather and the first signs of greening. At this point, the idea of 'autumn' or 'fall' is very far off and my mind simply rejects it, to the detriment of conversation with anyone experiencing that 'other' end of the cycle.
This is in no way 'personal', but a general observation of the overall situation of contrasted 'operating conditions' between the upper and lower hemispheres. Almost, as it were, at polar opposites.

There are three simple rules for effective and efficient communication between northern and southern hemisphere peoples
Unfortunately no one knows what they are
