Cool, I'll use that bread with the soup I'm just about to go and make

Oo what kind of soup is it?

Vegetable, although it's more of a thick stew - perfect for dipping into with bread and butter

I might* be cooking something simular tonight; I've not much food left in, but I've some collyflower brocholli celery onion a leek, and carrots and garlic and some fresh herbs Basil I think oh, and peas and sweetcorn too obviously and spuds a kinda leek and potato stew/soup with all the other veg think I've even got some vegetable OXO cubes, and I know i've still half a tub of onion browingin/gravy granules things which work well in anything like that of course I might get some frozen mince out instead and make cottage pie

You know what? I haven't had shepherd's pie for ages!

What would you use instead of minced lamb/beef?; that Quorn stuff? I've never tried it actually or soya mince ? i'll stick to the meat version

I like soya mince. I try to avoid Quorn as much as I can as I'm not too keen on it

I keep seeing all those adverts on teh box for the Quorn stuff and it does sound horrible

I quite like quorn, I had some the other day at work.

Any idea what it is made from? I'd never heard of it before till a while back whts it taste like?

The idea is that it takes on the flavour of the food it's cooked with I think, but their website calls it a mild savoury flavour.

I've had a look on their website and apparently it's "mycoprotein which is a nutritious member of the fungi family" like mushrooms.

I did quite like it, but I think I'm going off it now...

I eat it only when I have no choice as I prefer Cauldron's sausages and RealEat's veggie mince

you cant beat a bit of real meat
