Yeah, working fine now ta, thank goodness. I'm all central heating and no fire too...got a big hole in my wall where a fire should be though.

There was a fireplace herewhen I first moved in, but it took up so much of the wall and as it was all brick (right along the wall like a ledge) n not properly finished was a bit dangerous with a babe crawling about so i had the council knock it out. Id love a big ole fire, or at least an extra couple of radiators in the living room! its right under the window so all the heat escapes

Just realised I missed Wilma a few posts ago! sorry Wilma mustve simulposted you
I'm in a little bit on the kent/surrey/south london borders on the top of a hill..it gets so cold and sometimes we even end up cut off from the nearest town (croydon) for days when it snows! I dont know when the locals started calling it little siberia (the names new addington) but its been a good few years I gather.

evening all
I use to live just outside stow-on-the-wold and it gets really cold up there, you just can't go with out a fire in the fire place
RJR
but now we have a condencer boiler/cooker combined which is on all the time summer/winter cost about £80 a quarter and two fires one in the lounge (so middle class then) and one in the bed room/dressing room/bath room (so upper class there)

I'm the same, Serephina; I had to spend an hour in front of the heater after popping out for Horlicks, hot choc and Caffreys. I'm on the verge of hibernating here...

I went and played blinkin five a side football in it at 6pm, not the wisest thing I could have done, eh? Hence the need for the heater...

Just been outside for the all exciting turning on of Rickmansworth's christmas lights.
