Me!

Hello.

My name is Alan Nixon, and I'm new here (as you can tell by the lack of sophistication).

I live in Birmingham, England, and am married to Mary. Our son, Benjamin is 10, and our daughter, Tessa, is 2.

Here are a few of my favourite things, which you might want to discuss:

Films:
Somewhere in Time (Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour)
Blade Runner (Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer)
Bicentennial Man (Robin Williams, Sam Neil)
The Matrix (Keanu Reeves)
Kung Fu (David Carradine)
Enter the Dragon (Bruce Lee)
Dragon - story of Bruce Lee (Jason Scott Lee)
Lost Horizon (original)
Kundun
Seven Years in Tibet (Brad Pitt)
The Time Machine (original) (Rod Taylor)

Books:

His Dark Materials trilogy - Philip Pullman
Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien
Stephen Donaldson - Thomas Covenant (both trilogies) & the Gap series
HHGTTG - Douglas Adams (of course!)
(I do like a good trilogy, even in more parts then 3!)

Music:
Rachmaninov (obviously - Rhapsody and Piano concertos)
Beethoven (5th & 6th Symphonies, Moonlight, Emperor)
Electric Light Orchestra (everything)
Elton John (likewise)
Yellow Magic Orchestra (everything except the Japanese talking bits which I don't understand)
Roy Orbison (everything)

That's probably enough for now.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
