h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

These are my thoughts and ideas on what I would do if I where supreme ruler of Great Britian.
Firstly, it must be understood that we as humans are an integrel part of this planets eco system and we need to control the damage we inflict on our planet.We are not the most superior being here, we are arogent fools.
We also need to make changes to our social services structure to make it fair and balanced.
The guide for these ideas is taken from the teachings of mother nature, as displayed to us all in the wounder of a butterfly consumed on the wing by a sparrow.
So if I where king, I would start by fazing out the Soicial security service in this country. The reason for this is fareness to all. There have been too many people taking advantage of the system, using it as a saftey net, an excuse to be non productive. We all need to be productive to provide a safe, free enviroment for us all.
Like the squirrel saves food for the winter, we must save while working to allow us to live through the inevitanble winter that comes to all our lives.
Savings should be made before taxes are removed.
People can then take the individual choice to support poor people and the less fortunate through charity organisations and local comunity help groups. People should be given the chance to decide how to mange their money.
On the subject of earning a decent wage, the minimum wage will be recalculated and saleries of companies monitored and a more even distribution of pay scale sugested, but I'm king so we'll enforce them if we have to. There must be an end to Joe Worker slogging his guts out on the factory floor for the same rate per hour that the big boss spends a day on cigars. Ok thats an extreme example, but you get the idea.
I would reestablish the British Empire to its full extent, taking control of the former countries which will need additional manpower and knowledge to help build our safe new world. To do this I would reallocate all persons to there original country of origin. This would enable them to safely use their skills and knowledge learnt in this country to help build their own country to greatness.
