Just a guess, but sometimes guesses are good

definitely makes this entry very informative...
all i have to do now is to find a way to get a link to the "fellow LDers' favourite TV series?!" convo and we are in business... hehe...

yep, it might have to be done... it's just there were some good discussions in that one... twas becoming a bit more than just saying what TV series we like...
anyway at the mo' i'm looking for some pictures... after that, a bit of polishing and it will be very presentable indeed... hehe...
[and i got a full week to work out the percentages...]

Better get your calculator out
Why don't you start a thread for every series or genre, then people post to the thread with their fav on and then you just count, or should I shut up now

well the first time will take longer... after that it's a question of adding every week..
i got the list in a book with how many peeps have nominated/mentioned each title [and the initials of the peeps so that no-one "votes" twice... not that it would be THAT serious anyway but better play by the rules....] and yes i got my mobile as a glorified calculator next to me... hehe...
not sure about a thread for each category... some peeps have a tendency of changing the subject so many times that it would become a nightmare trying to keep track that way...
at the mo' it's easier; someone mentions a title and i add it in my book or add a tick with initials if the title has been mentioned already...
got 2 other threads somewhere with also some titles mentioned... will have a look tomorrow...
one of them is "all the gerry anderson's titles"... it's a good thing that i know of them innit.... and another one from samarkand...
at least the Sci-fi series seem to be proeminent...
that's not too boring... hehe...

i might be able to do some work on the fav' tv series now... at last... lol...

Well, obviously I've been following the developments, when I've been online.
Didn't one researcher say they thought it wouldn't be a problem to get around.
Liked manda's speech

yep... i must admit i was not too pleased either when we were told that the short-cut won't help when we know from experience that the 360 trick has been working for us for a good while now...
manda must have been peed off with us having to pratically repeating the same thing over again and again eg: YES IT WORKS... and then being told "but it can't work because i THOUGHT etc..."... i won't say too much but yep, well done manda... hehe...
i left another post [which i'm sure you've already read] showing why we know it works... hehe... tenth time lucky maybe... lol...
if it's using betsie... unfortunately that doesn't work either for the digibox...
the h2g2 skin similar to the dna/hub one?!... if they can convince the PTB... that would be a good thing as we could choose when we want to go back to the classic or err... the other skin...
there might be another suggestion that i missed.. it was not really the best day for me to be busy as i had quite a lot to do offline... doh!!!.. hehe... but i had to make a point of getting involved somehow... i think i went a bit heavy at one time but they seem to have been ok with it... obviously it might be difficult for pc users to understand the full extend of the digibox's limitations...
i mean: pc users who never had the err... "pleasure" to use one of them...
we'll see what tomorrow brings...
at least some peeps are keen to find a solution this time... that's something...
talk later...

Tried betsie myself, so I know that doesn't work, b****l crashes the digibox, so that's no good either
Had any interesting emails from any programmers yet?
Don't think java works in emails anyway
I've written that code down and I'll try it later, but I'm not optimistic, just a shame someone won't break house rules, cos that sounds like it could help all digi-box users

no email yet but it's the weekend and they do deserve a break... hehe... but at least if they want to try something having to do with emails for digibox they know wher to send them......
breaking house rules... yep, i didn't want to push there... not knowing what rule would have been broken twas difficult to discuss the subject on site...
who knows i might get some info off site explaining what would be the problem......
maybe they can work some thing out from that solution and find one that won't break the rules... they seem to be keen to find a solution...
i had a lurk on the web... typed digibox in the search box... lots of entries on the web but of course couldn't access them...

Fingers crossed
Let's hope email leads somewhere, I tried the other solutions e.g Image src and the www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/bla/blah/blah, but it looks like they thought of that one
I've had a look on the web too, it seems to be mainly American STB's tho, not much to go on, but hopefully some of the programmers can come up with something
Key: Complain about this post
