Welcome to the wonderful world of h2g2! I very much enjoyed reading your gospel - thank you for bringing a smile to my face, its good to see you here.

I should probably introduce myself, my name is LighthousegirlUK, but most people call me Light far less of a mouthful, I am an ACE (assistant community editor) and we like to pop over and personally welcome people. It can all seem a bit overwhelmingly large to start with but in those immortal words Dont Panic - if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will do my best to help. As a pilgrim from the land of Private messages its hard coming to terms with "public" conversation. ie, I may casually type of how a recent enema has given me painful piles, but while I may indeed want to inform friends of my woe I wouldn't want EVERYBODY reading it! Oh & don't worry I merely made up that example, I'm sitting quite comfortably, thank you. But all this public moderation is a little Orwellian, don't you think? Anyway I've finally accessed your "Space" (but can only get in with Alabaster & not Goo!?) & saw your interesting questions. Favourite saying/quote? I recently read a really profound book (recommended by a friend who's also hiding in "here" somewhere) so I'll try to quote from it something of relevance to you; "You work that you may keep pace with the earth & the soul of the earth." So there! Alabaster or not, I still can't access your bar but then all those peglegged pirates with their grog, their parrots & their "Ya~Haaar, me hearties!" seems like dangerous waters for an eyepatchless landlubber like me. Shiver me barnacles & hand me an |oj| (That was an attempt at a graphic, perhaps I haven't got the hang of it after all.)

It certainly is different than private messaging - but then that being said you will find you form different types of friendships and confiences here. I agree that it can take a while to get used to but actually its quite fun You meet some amazing people this way!

I personally dont have any issue with moderation - what is wrong with making sure we operate within the law and that no one is spitting or being too offensice?
