Hi Bob, I passed this on to my Mum to have a read of, as trains and Queen Victoria are her 'Thing'. She said factually it's very accurate, but the spelling and punctuation needs a bit of work, she said it needs full stops as sentaces run ito each other (her words not mine). She did say it's a good piece of work

It is a rough copy and I did not want to spend hours on it before I checked the facts.
I also seek ideas for input if there is anything missing (like the route through gosport town round the Stone Lane area)
Thanks...

Do you mean Gosport to Stokes Bay?
The old line from Gosport station ran behinnd our house to Gosport Road station (The White Hart is where it used to be) The rest of the line is now a cycles path to Clayhall Road, the rest of the line is now built over except for the last few 100yds which is common land. Old Gosport station to Fareham, partly built over, parts of it are a cycle path, the rest of it you can still see at Newgate lane, the council want to turn that part into an express bus route from Gosport to Fareham
You can get a good view of Gosport Railway station on Google Maps

Ah, you want to go left (as you look at the screen till you come to the White Hart Pub (White Hart Road) According to mum that's where the Station was, running parallel to Cleveland Road is a cycle path, that's the old track, it'll lead you to Stokes bay, give or take an excursion

Gosport Street station doesn't exsist anymore but the ruins of Gosport Station are still there, the council are planning to build flats near by but thay can't do anything with the ruins because they have a preservation order on them, you can see them clearly on the satillite image on google maps

Look for A triangular junction of Mumby Road, Forton Road and Spring Garden Lane, you'll see two long ruined buildings by a cycle path (the rack) That's the old Gosport station
