Just thought i'd stop by for a quick visit.
Your notes were a great help when i was finding my way round.
We seem to like some of the same boards ~ Dr Who rocks.
It always gives me a start when you mention your sons name in your posts 'cos they always seem to come soon after mine and ,being an Alex too, it always takes my head a second to realise its not me.

Actually my Alex is a girl, a lot of people though she was a boy when she was a baby so I had to drress her in pink and put bows in her hair, I'm glad I could help in your first few days, sci fi fans tend to stick together

I always hate it when people assume that i'm a male 'cos of the name ~ then i go and do it myself.
I took to shortening it to lexy mostly when online ~ it saved having to keep explaining i was a girl.

No worries, I didn't want her to have a really unusual name so she'd stand out, my name's Coral, hence the Reefgirl nickname, and I got teased rotten at school but then I didn't was a name so popular that there would be 3 in every class so Alexandra was a nice compromise

My parents wanted something a bit different but i wound up with 2 Alexs in my class and one living next door.

I've come across a couple of Alexander's at her school but not many of either sex anywhere else

Is your daughters full name alexandra?
Someone made me a siggie with alexandra on instead of lexy which i usually use ~ if you think she'd like it i'd be happy to email it to you.

Yes her full name is Alexandra, she's always been known as Alex, we wanted a name that wasn't so common that there would be 3 in every class at school or one that was so unusual that she'd get teased, Alex seemed to fit the bill, we had a fried who's daughter was called Alexis, it was shortened to Lexy
