I should have kept the few that survived my summer. I had two pots of Californian poppies that made it halfway through the summer. In many shades and hues...

I'm not sure if I want to be part of a system where blatent bullying is rife and nothing is done and the only explaination is a load of BBC double speak. I know I'm no angel when it comes to speaking my mind but people who have been around long enough should know me by now, Nick and I are being victimised and no-one is prepared to stand up to the bullies, after all all bullies are cowareds, isn't that what we were told to do at school

Well said Coral, I think you will find there are more people who would back you on your thoughts than be against you.
If enough people complain about the idiotic goings on of a few mindless gloits maybe someone in charge might take some notice.
How do we register a complaint?

FAO The Phantom Yikeser (because presumably you're still reading this thread in case anything else you think is yikesable pops up, you despicable coward):
COME AND HAVE A GO IF YOU THINK YOU'RE HARD ENOUGH!

Mr D - The original Phantom Yikeser doesn't exhist it was part of the Profanity filter. This Yikeser however is yours to do with as you please

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Oct 31, 2006
Really? I thought the Profanity Filter was designed in such a way that it would simply refuse the post if it contained something objectionable. I'm pretty sure the Italics said as much on at least one occasion.
Anyway, if this Yikeser is mine to do with as I please I think I'll need a cricket bat, four six inch nails, a vat of custard and an ironing board... it's going to be a long night.

A vat of Custard???
Well I've had the usual non comital post from the team saying the first post will not be replaced
Basically I asked my stalker to come out and talk to me face to face to explain why they are doing this and to ask if there was any interest in a Stitch and 'Female Dog' knitting group on h2g2

Yep... that stuff's worse than quicksand.

Can't you offer to rewrite the post without the offending word (I'm assuming that it's the other version of 'Female Dog')?

Hi Coral, I have sent a complaint to the address you gave me, so lets see if we get anything positive back.

I have basically re written it in my last post.
Thanks Whamster, according to whoever replied to my post it's my fault my posts are being removed as the filter works in 2 ways
[QUOTE]As you possibly know, the profanity filter works on two levels. Some words are prevented from being posted at all, others are allowed through but may then be forwarded to a Moderator to check. If the Moderator feels the material needs examining, they may choose to refer it for further adjudication. As you have posted significant amounts of material that are likely to trigger the profanity filter, mainly through misspelt swear words, it’s not surprising that the Moderators have been kept busy reading more of your posts.
Our site relies not only on reactive moderation but on the basic assumption that our users can be trusted to use our site without needing to be monitored. However, the activities in that particular conversation - and others - are drawing our attention far too regularly.
So in answer to your query, the only person getting your posts removed is you. If you can start to think before you post, consider whether your posts and / or links are appropriate to a BBC site and whether your attitude to others is likely to cause offence, then maybe we can reduce the likelihood of this reoccurring. If you cannot restrain yourself, we may take the option of limiting your service through pre-moderation or account restriction.

Is part of the explaination I got

I agree that it's flicking annoying but at the same time I have to side with the Mods/Italics on this one.

Hey !!! Did you read MY e-mails?
I love the less than subtle hammer at the end of it.

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Oct 31, 2006
Yeah I guess so but no-one bothered to explain in the email, and I've been doing it for months, it's only over the last few days that my posts have been going astray, so when was the filter tightened and why weren't we told, I guess I'll just shut up then and just say hello in the appropriate places

Oh Reef, you silly girl. You posted in a thread recently, were properly slapped, and still had the nerve to post again. Won't you learn?

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Oct 31, 2006
Anyway, what appears to be the moral of the story:
If anyone thinks they have a beef with you, they can negate or nearly any post you make. Because all that needs to be said is "I found it offensive" or "I took offence to that possible insinuation". And that will be the end of the post, reguardless of how plain, mundane or simply silly it originally was. Any possible, thin risk of offence WILL be upheld.
But no, this place ain't changing at all.

I'd join a 'Stich and Byche' knitting group...except I haven't knitted for years and would probably mess it up if I tried again now.

I refuse to join such a group on the basis that it is cruel and inhumane to any poor sheep-sheerings. Been there, tried that, and
