Hiya, I just don't like to scare people off by invading their space.

I had a bit of an upsetting time this morning - I was told a few home truths by someone and i'm trying to get my head around it. People can be so darn nasty, why do they do that?.....

Anyhow, I'm finding it really easy to read up on stuff about hedgewitches - are you in a coven? Not sure if I want to go that deeply into Wicca just at the moment.

I've sort of started my own 'Book of Shadows' but it isn't really that thick - i'm still finding it hard to create spells or incantations. My visualisation skills aren't really up to scratch either, I know I have to keep going, but without anyone to talk to about it, i'm a little lost and bewildered.

Do not worry about offending or upsetting me.. iam very thick skinned and i am very open minded.
As to mwy people are very cruel is that they are scared of what they do not understand, and jealousy can be a very destructive force... these are things that i try my best to stay away from and steer others away from as it does nothing for anyone... just tell them to grow up and if they are right about something they should have done it in a way that would not upset as you sound like a very nice person.
Yes i am in a coven, we do a lot together... it is very useful and comforting... if you need help, someone to talk to, etc i am, as i have said, someone that can help you...

I'm up in Bristol at the moment, been thinking of moving away as my job comes to an end in June (after 7 years!) not sure where to go tho?

Is there much work down there? - I can usually put my hand to anything, from Bus Driving to Bar work. Don't know what I really want to do yet, although you would have thought I would have worked that out at 34!

trw, I was reading your page after chatting with you on the pub crawl page and I have a suggestion for visualization, if you don't mind.

I'm in the US (NYC to be precise) so I'm not sure this book was released outside the country. It is called 'Creative Visualization' and was written by a psychologist. I'll dig out the details at home tonight if you are interested. It's not Wiccan or of any earthen-based path, but it has incredibly useful excercises in teaching self-hypnosis and visualization. I've found it quite useful.

I strongly recommend the works of Rosemary Edghill. You have probably heard of her. She writes the "Bast" mystery series, but she is also a very serious Wicca scholar and has many works published. I enjoyed her "Book of Moons" (Front Publishers, 1972, New York). Lots of fun and great source of data . I am Irish and find that Wicca has a lot in common with Druidism. Too bad Emperor Claudius was so successful wiping out the Druids . A whole lot of earth rites lost!

Anyway, let me know if you are familiar with Edghill's work and your opinion, OK? Thanks much in advance!
