£70 a week at HSV?!? Is that some special priveliged rate for PGCE students? Coz I'm fairly certain the undergraduates "only" pay something like £45 a week. Which is still a rip-off when private acoommodation is still £40 a week.
Good luck finding somewhere reasonably nice to live though.

excuse me for gatecrashing your jounal B.
.
I don't suppose anyone has come up with the theory, that the REAL reason B is being evicted, is because his landlady is a secret hootooer, and has read his journals!!...just a thought

Dolt - yes, there was big ol' rent increase this year, when the Uni realised how much they could charge and get away with it. So all us Education students can't even get into our damn department because it's swamped with posh students Beamers and Mercs.
Venus - Incriminating things in my journals? Never!

Don't leave a forwarding address then - the price of revenge is an official redirection from the Royal Mail... you just have to set it up a week before you move out.

Notes regarding the Royal Mail fowarding thing.
.You have to pay, not that* much, but it gets expensive to continue it on for months at a time.
.Perhaps the most important thing is the required sources of written identification they require to identify you with the addres you require the mail to be redirected from. Because of this point I was unable to get the mail from the house which I own redirected to me whilst I was away and renting the house out. Bills and things seem to be their prefered forms of identification, addresed to the address you want the mail redirected from, and with your name on it. They require several sources of identification like this, plus, if i remember correctly a passport, death certificate, well, more likely birth certificate or something

Were you supposed to wash tins and stuff out before chucking them? I have known people be anal about that sort of thing.
Btw, what's the purpose of the comma in your speech?
Evicted!
Mu Beta Posted Dec 13, 2003
I think it just reads better with the comma.
I was supposed to wash out all my recycling stuff (cans, bottles and what-have-you), but this was a polystyrene meat tray we were talking about.

Maybe she just hates the smell of kebab sauce?
You can come and live here, we don't have a bin for that sort of stuff, just a mindset- "chuck it on the floor, the dog'll clean it"...

No offence, Kerr Avon, but there must be a happy medium somewhere between your way and the landlady's.

Mu Beta Posted Dec 16, 2003
Having visited both houses, I can verify that there is a vast motorway between Kerr's lifestyle and my landlady's.
Anyway, you will be pleased to hear that I do now have somewhere to live. It's in the sumptuous Postgraduate accommodation of Beck House (Dolt will know where I mean ), in a room which one of my fellow PGCE students is vacating over Christmas.

Beck house, eh? Yes, I know of it, certainly. Lucky you! Never known anyone describe it as 'sumptuous' before, though. Perhaps all the people I knew there were just fussy?
Conveniently close to the Uplands Tavern too, if you ever feel like a bit of live music, and, erm, and...
Congrats anyway, B. Glad to hear you've got somehwere to live next year

Anywhere's sumptuous as long as I'm not on the streets.
But I am going to miss the - ahem - atmosphere when drinking at the Tenby.

The bloodstained floor and the interesting locals.....
Good news about the room. The question now is do you still want help moving on Saturday?

I would point out that stuff does get transfered to the bin in time, it doesn't just get left to turn into peat...
You didn't catch anything in your stay, did you B? In that case, it's clean enough.

I think there was enough alcohol in my system during my stay to kill 99% of all known germs. And make the other 1% too pissed to care...
