2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

me too; I've only one pair of jeans now that fit, the 32" waist I got from M&S, (the slightly more expensive own brand ones; the ceaper own brand ones, at the same size, were a hopless fit), the 32" from Blue In, were just as big as my ld 34" waist jeans smiley - huh and the 34"s would just fall straight off me, now without a belt smiley - blush and they're really too baggy for me to wear, so I cna't even pretend they're a second pair smiley - blush The leg size on the M&S ones isn't qutie right though.... but the next leg size up would be to* long smiley - wahsmiley - crysmiley - headhurts

The gown got loads of compliments! It's beautifully cut, the button detail at he back is dainty, it has a high waist with tie back belt, and for dancing purposes, the ankle length is perfect, and the silk just floes and catches the light just right.

The shoes were also much admired, and I never tire of hearing " have you lost weight?"

And the final bonus- the mustard jacket matches my car smiley - smiley

Hmmmm, there's a brand new Ted Baker dress in the charity shop, label still attached. New price, £120, on sale for £35. That's a lot for a charity shop, but quite a resonable price for a dress. it looks perfect for dancing in - round neck, sleeveless, fine pleats, floaty skirt, tied around the waist. I should go and try it on, shouldnt I.....

Bought it - it's a lovely shade of browny-maroon, and it's silk. It was on a size 10 hanger, and when I tried it on it felt very comfortable, but when I checked the Ted Baker site it reckons that a size 3(which is what the label says) is equivalent to a 12.

Now, can I get away with it at an accountants drinks reception this evening? It would need a jumper or cardigan over it, but I'm already wearing brown boots and maroon leggings which are perfect with it. And I have the coral pash, which goes with everything.

Dammit I think I've ruined it already! Put it in the wash, and the silk overlay skirt seems to have shrunk smiley - sadface

Today I have he perfect Tshirt to wear!

Commander Hadfield is book signing in Belfast this afternoon. I am wearing a souvenir Tshirt that my rocket scientist cousin brought me from the shuttle's final landing.

Your wardrobe is more than a collection of garments to keep the cold out, it's a moving art installation and social commentary.

I've missed you! Reading your fashion journals is a highlight of the day. smiley - biggrin

I was about 4th in the queue, which was the largest group of excited geeks I've ever seen in one place. Bereft of wifi in the shops ground floor, they discussed the attributes of his rendition of space oddity, and debated what software he ought to have used. By the time he arrived, the queue snaked round the whole of the ground floor, up the stairs and out the front door.

My cousins son, who was behind me, took a photo on my phone. I shook his hand, said "you're very welcome to Belfast', and he said:

" I like your t shirt"

smiley - ok

According to his web site, it looks like today's signing at Foyle's is the last one of the series; the link "Book Tour Dates" doesn't work, and the London venue is the only one shown.

So - let us know if the book's any good - I can get it for him even if it's not signed.

Me again, sorry. The picture of the book's cover shows a suspiciously similar font to some of the Hitchhiker's stuff, and the title:

"An Astronaut's Guide to Life

(picture of an astronaut in the middle)

On Earth"

Does anyone know the connection?

Perhaps this should move to a thread on Ask. Sorry.

Does your son like self-help books about sticktoitiveness? If he does, he will love it. If he's reading it to learn about space, he might be a bit disappointed by it.

It's very readable, and full of interesting "oooh, I didnt know that!"s. But KB sums it up - it's more about human interaction than rocket ships.
