Board meeting yesterday, which was held in Rathmullan House Hotel in the wilds of Donegal. I checked a map which said it was 102 miles away, so I left myself 2 hours to get there.
Got stuck behind a funeral, several lorries, countless roadworks and every tractor in the county. It took me 3 1/2 hours and I missed the audit committee meeting
The food was excellent - local seafood is a speciality, so I tucked into scallops and turbot. The former chairman was a guest, and he handily owns a distillery, so 3 miniatures of whisky were placed in front of everyone.
Right, off to get glammed up for my hen night.

So in other words, you did no work but partook of the food and booze and no-one blamed you?

Haha. The audit meeting was followed by a full board meeting which lasted till 6, followed by an Investment Committee meeting which lasted till 7. Then this morning we had visits to 4 local projects which we have funded. So it wasn't ALL eating and drinking...

If I had to sit through that many meetings, I would need more whiskey than that.
