Aaaand I'm back, relieved to find I still have a house and car to come back to! Full write up being prepared (after I've done the washing and ironing, uploaded photos, made the bed....)

You mean you left the bed unmade all the time you were away? What if you'd have had a break-in .. what would they have thought of you?

I stripped the bed to air it while I was gone (and also discourage any teenagers and their friends from using it....)

OK - good one. I've tried dumping loads of stuff on the bed before going away, but it didn't deter them. I could tell by the way the pillows were rearranged. And everything that was on the bed when I'd left was neatly piled on the floor surrounding said bed!
