Rimmer how would you like to be my running mate for the election?
Terran Started conversation Sep 9, 2005
To repeat the title :
Rimmer how would you like to be my running mate for the election? I think you could be the best person for the job

I have no idea what you base that assumption on but I'm honoured none the less. And I answer with a strong and decisive perhaps.
Would it be demanding in any way what so ever?

The link to the place is here A5571434.
No more effort than we've done with h2g2 in past... Just promote the party when you get the chance... which I'm still to name
Its just a bit of fun, but we'll see how it goes

Excellent Glad to have you on board
I was thinking of calling the party the Perfectly Normal Party, with reference to the last Hitchhikers book.
Or we could just go with the Terranic Party. Have you got any suggestions?

The Party Of Terran? (or POT for short? )
The Official National Terranic Imnipotent Party? (or ONTOP for short?)
Perfect Sensible PArty? (PSP)
Perfect Terran Party? (might make people think we support Peer-to-Peer services )
Nah just joking. The Terranic party would be fine with me. Or we could be The Perfectly Normal Terranic Party if you whish?

I like those
I was trying to get something more original for the name really, so maybe the Perfectly Sensible/Normal Party might be the one to go with...

The Perfectly Sensible Party - The sensible choice for h2g2.

The Perfectly Sensible Party - It may not be perfect, but it's a perfectly sensible option!

Oh I've just thought, would you be able to pop your head in the nomination thread and just say that you're my running mate F2520084?thread=986782

Ah... I've just noticed I changed the sensible to normal in the post...
Should we go with that? Or do you prefer sensible?

Ace Rimmer [pretending] Posted Sep 9, 2005
Well I like both but I like sensible marginally more. But pick whatever you like best.

The only thing that pushes the Normal forward for me, is that it links to a quote from Hitchhikers...
If you don't have any strong objections I'd like to go with the mistype (as many great names come about) and pretend that we're a "normal" party

Ace Rimmer [pretending] Posted Sep 9, 2005
Only good reason I can think of is I can't think of a good slogan for the perfectly normal party, but that's about it. And it sounds a tad pretentious. But it is a quote from hhgttg so people'll probably get it.

Actually as part of our slogan I did wonder if we could maybe just give greater freedom to Someone Else's Problems (SEP's)... we've got it on the Terranic page, but its a reasonable place to start... maybe
Or maybe I'm losing my touch *worries*

Ace Rimmer [pretending] Posted Sep 9, 2005
No that's a great platform. We demand more freedom to SEP's! Vote for the Perfectly Normal Party and free all SEP's out there!
