Hey,
What does gabbing mean? Excuse me but I'm American. I have a British friend who says that we are two nations divided by a single language. He may have a point.

Hi Imogen
gabbing is (as far as I know) a Scottish word-but it may also be English, and it means...
chatting or talking.
A great expression for someone who talks too much is 'a Gabby Aggie'-but who knows what that means!
I suppose Gab comes from another
weird word Gob-meaning mouth.
hope that's interesting-I must remember and try to use International expressions more often!

Great. Thanks. I don't mind the strange words - I'm living in the UK and I need to learn them. It's the strange names which get to me!

If I can ever be of any help-don't hesitate to visit me!

Oh Jeez, now I've got to go and find the names. But I guess I asked for that!

Okay, here's one: Ekki³ F'tang Hala³ Bah-Whing - [ACE-MUSE-CHIEFTAIN-KEEPER-PROCRASTINATOR-AMBASSADOR] - Part-time Penguin.
I asked the guy and he explained it, I think. And he was real pleasant about it. It just distracts me, and there's more than enough on these two sites to distract me!
And I did swing by the visit you. At least I think I did. I wanted to know who David Dickinson might be?

well-here goes!
PRIMORD=a big, dopey 'werewolf' type monster from the TV series Doctor Who.
Breville-pies='food of the gods'
made with ready rolled pastry,
and cooked in a toastie maker.
David Dickinson=slightly 'eccentric' presenter of 'Bargain Hunt'-a tv show were 2 contestants try to buy antiques/collectibles and make a profit.
and Queen=an easy way for me to fit my favourite group into my name!

Fine.
I get most of it.
Does this mean I have to add watching daytime antiques shows to my repertoire of learning the English phsyche?
Dear God...
Thanks!
Imogen.

I guess you are right. I have to say that what I've seen of UK daytime television is streets ahead of the US. Better hairdos anyway. But then I've not seen David Dickinson yet. How does his hair shape up?
Imogen.

Hi
well David's hair is one of his most prominent features-it's kind of long-especially for a 60
year old antiques dealer!
