Hi Saturnine, I don't think we've actually ran across each other before but I just wanted to let you know that irrespective of the arguments about the digiboxers I felt that you handled yourself with dignity, calmness and restraint despite the personal abuse directed at yourself (and aka).

I liked that and I think it made your arguments for your case all the more powerful because your conviction wasn't undermined by invective.

That means a lot to me. When there seems to be complete threads devoted to bing about my existance and my opinions, the oasis of a compliment is sorely welcomed.

I'm not wholly concerned whether people agree with me, as long as they listen. That's the frustrating part about all of this - people just wait for me to post, and then interpret it how they wish as an excuse to yell at me. I don't understand it one bit. I am guessing that it's more to do with others not understanding, than them just being bloodyminded.

But hey, this is h2g2. Not some warring community. It *always* irons itself out in the end.

Saturnine, I'm reminded of a nice Voltaire quotation which goes something along the lines of "I may disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". Seems a fine sentiment to me and one the community should remember.
