Hi there, and welcome to h2g2!
I am Roadkill, and I'm an ACE (Assistant Community Editor). This means that I'm here to help. If there's something you're puzzled about, don't hesistate to ask me or one of my fellow ACEs.
And so we come to the links. These are to help you find your feet, and jump start you into the community.
Your page looks like it's written in Guide ML. It's beautiful when it works, but can be infuriating. The little things are the important ones, so if you want it, here's the correct ML for your introduction:
I don't know anything, but my friends do.
Strider: I've known him since infancy and regretted every minute.
Spike A: I think I met him at a sheep-thing, but not one of those sheep things.
Remember to switch our of Plain Text mode. For additional help, go to the Guide ML clinic at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/GuideML-Clinic .
The smileys: These are the cute little yellow things that are liberally dotted around the screen . these can all be found at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/Smiley , or by clicking on whatever one you want to do.
The H2G2 Post have made a nice little links page for those of us that don't carry them around in our heads. You can find it at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A616718 .
For a longer welcome, go to the Welcome page, that the nice people who keep the site running have written at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/Welcome-Newcomers
it's got a lot of the basic background and how-tos that you will need - a good place to start
Then you can take the H2G2 Tour at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A317459 to see how it all works
If some of the H2G2 terms leave you a little confused, there is a great page about it at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A632431 .
Oh, and also: Don't Panic. If you do, then go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/DontPanic for all your FAQ needs.
Bye for now,
Roadkill.
