*floating in, in her usual vague, elf-like manner*
I found my name in the Editor's Selection entry on today's front page - very generous of you!
...but since all I did was to nag you about what it tastes like - and wasting a lot of time having discussions about Hasselbackspotatis and being Swedish, I don't feel I've really contributed enough to be mentioned as one of the researchers - could you have my name removed please?

Editor's Selection entry on today's front page, eh!
Thanks for the 'heads-up'.
Dunno what to do about your credit - after my entries get selected out of PR, I pretty much lose control over them. You should consult the Editor, in this case U195116 (Sprant).
Anyway, I made fundamental alterations to the Entry to include your taste comments which were made in good faith and (I venture) deserve the credit.

Oh... ...if you say so...
I just wish there would be a way to sort the researcher names - I seem to have the lowest researcher number, so my name ends up being on top of the list...

It depends on your philosophy to H2G2.
Are you trying to make a big score, so credits count, however you get them?
Do you merely want just recognition for your work done?
Do you really want no more than to create a proper living guide to the Life Universe and Everything.
I say, that if the latter, the credits don't really matter. Demon Drawer is the only one who's counting. I credit so many people for entries I write 99% myself, mostly for inspiration; meanwhile other researchers take full credit for an entry whose entire evolution takes place in PR. Fair? Who cares? There's no prize to be won is there?
Think about "in 20 years time" - so many of the entries should have been updated and re-updated that the list of contributors will outweigh the Entry itself. In that respect the issue of credits for entries may 'seem' important now but in the future will be irrelevant. I venture that in 2025, H2G2 entries will only state "latest entry updated by ... (date)", and may perhaps include a link to bibliography of contributors.

My answer is - uh - c)
Big scores - not particularly interested
Recognition - well, I've contributed with more stuff to other edited entries without being credited - maybe that's why I felt I hadn't really done anything to earn it this time
Create a proper living Guide? Hmmmm... to tell the truth, I'm here more for the conversations than for the writing, but somehow I end up writing sooner or later anyway
Key: Complain about this post
