Hiya! VIP here. As we were chatting in the other thread I thought I'd bring it here out of the way of other people who don't care. safer that way. What id that movie like? It's entirely computer animated, isn't it?

Yup. The graphics are totally mind blowing! If they ever do that with the games, then I'd never stop playing them.

FFIX is good enough (though I prefer VIII to be honest) for me! X must be stunning.

Oh it is! I've got over 40 hours on it, but I just can't get past this massive boss...

Personally, I think VIII is pretty bad. My rating of the games are;

IV, VI, V, VIII, VII, X, IX.

I've only played VII, VIII and IX. I'm going to try III and IV too at some point. I like VIII. It suits me. People say they prefer the MP system but I liked the whole junctioning thing. Perhaps it was because I hadn't got used to the MP thing so it was all new to me.

I think MP is definately better, but I like X's system; the Aeons (other wise known as Espers, Summons, GFs and Eidolons) don't use MP, and are treated like a normal character (except Yojimbo, who's weird). Think a more refined version of the FF XIII system.

Yeah, I've heard that. Do they just sort of stand in for the persons who summons them?

Well actually the whole party leaves and the Aeon comes in. When they die, or you choose to dismiss the Eidolon (I prefer 'Eidolon' to 'Aeon'), the party returns. Also, you can change members while in battle, and because there's no ATB, you can take as long as you like.

No ATB? How does that work? I kinda like that. It's sort of... fair. Gentlemanly, even.

Well, let's try to explain. I'll make up some speed values to explain.

Player A Speed = 2.
Player B Speed = 3.
Player C Speed = 5.
Monster 1 Speed = 4.
Monster 2 Speed = 1.

So, Player C would go first, then Monster 1, then Player B, etc. Once everyone has had a go, it starts again. However, sometimes a player will get two, three or even four turns in a row (especially if they use Haste, opponent has Slow cast on them, or they're just really fast!).

You follow that?

Roughly. I'm sure I'd understand better in practice. Kinda makes sense.

Yeah, it's difficult to explain...

Try explaining the VIII system to anyone! The tutorials are not substitute for getting in there and figuring it out yourself!
