post-grandma return
Posted Oct 15, 2005
It's again been months that I've been neglecting my duties and friends in here, but it's not my fault. Life is a crazy thing, with lots of turns and distractions.
One distraction was my grandmother's passing, which occurred on September 7th. No doubt whatsoever that the whole family will miss her dearly, but she was 101 years old and had survived two husbands and two of her own children so how sad could we get about it? Besides, I got the opportunity to see relatives I hadn't seen in a dozen years.
STILL gotta get ahold of Bassman again, I'm so bad. Hope my magic number and aloofness hasn't tarnished my image, even though I'm sure it has. They'll get over it - or else! (LOL).
I wonder what everyone thought of the movie ...

Welcoming myself back
Posted Dec 17, 2004
Wow, it's been a while.
In fact, I totally forgot about this for the last couple of years. Shameful!
So what have I been up to? Well, roughly 6 foot, same as always. Oh, you meant to ask where have I been? Well, that's a tougher question ... suffice it to say I'm back. I mean give me a break already, it's been 2 years!
I still can't believe that, but I'm being forced to anyway. My ploy is to pretend I can believe it so everyone will stay off my back about it, but know that I don't really believe it.
Maybe it's been one to many gin and tonics. Or one to few.
Either way, this journal entry signifies that I'm back and plan to stay. I also need to get ahold of Bassman sometime soon, I've been neglectant of my responsibilites to the Ministry (not my fault though - remember I've been MIA for a while now.)

Waiting impatiently ...
Posted Feb 3, 2002
I'm starting to get all excited about the 2002 NASCAR season, which starts in a couple of weeks. I've been "getting into" it again over the last year or so and also playing a fantasy game at yahoo (yahoo's Fantasy Auto Racing; I'm in "The Fans of Rusty Wallace" public group also under the name Dalkorian) where you pick 8 drivers (4 active and 4 "reserve") and hope they qualify and finish well, earning points accordingly (the reserve drivers only earn qualifying points). I also found and have enjoyed a game by Miller called "Virtual Racing League", where you build your own race team (driver and crew chief), train them and let them race on Sunday. Points are earned according to how well they finish. Since I started both games at around the same time, I've tied them together in a way, creating a group in yahoo to share thoughts on the sport and the game in particular. The yahoo group is together and waiting for the games to start, and so far it looks like Monday is the day to build my VRL team and race group.
I thought I was going to be able to do that today, but they changed the date on me (or I got the date wrong in the first place). So all day I've felt off key, having looked forward to this for the last couple of days. Dee Nile isn't just a river in Egypt, you know ...
Tried to find Galaxy Babe's space today through Bassman's, but it wasn't working (the button failed me, not Bassman's space. It just wouldn't "go"). Guess that wasn't meant to be either.
My space needs a facelift already. Someday soon it will get one, but not today.

Day two ...
Posted Jan 14, 2002
I tried adding an applet to my space tonight (yes, it was my own applet!), but I couldn't get it to work. Since there is nothing mentioned in the GuideML Clinic about linking in applets (that I noticed in my hasty glimpse through it), I'm guessing that I can't do it. Oh well, better luck next time. (Yes, if you know how to add a java applet to your space you should let me know! It's good for your carma and stuff ...)
I thanked Bassman for the welcome, then proceeded to mess up his conversation list by posting to it 3 times in a row. PERSONAL NOTE : PREVIEW your pages as often as you like, but POST IT ONCE (no matter how long it seems to take! Patience is a virtue!). I hope I haven't created a reputation already, that usually takes a few weeks to develop!

First day on the job
Posted Jan 13, 2002
I just wanted to make a record of my first day on the job as a Researcher for the Guide. My day has been filled with creating my personal space page, checking emails and playing games on the old Playstation. Not a very productive day, mind you. Fortunately they are paying me by the hour. >=|
Feel free to give me feedback and advice. Good remarks will be appreciated. Bad remarks may fall into that old SEP catagory and summarily ignored.
