Quincey... or Columbo?

Hi Quince,
Just thought i'd pop over and say hi. Saw you finish your shift over at the Condolance forum and was going say that i kind of know where you're coming from - i'm an ex-undertaker - if you ever want to talk, i'll be down at the slab, come over for a couple of glasses of embalming fluid...
As it is i won't say that at all, because then i'd look like a right charlie, and that's the last think i want you to know, er... think.
So i'll pretend i know what i'm talking about in terms of H2G2 instead... That way you'll think i'm clever and maybe you'll like me. (You see, i'm shrewd).
Smiley codes can be found here:

There an outline of how to write guide entries here:

Theres a list of basic commands and their uses here (the GuideML clinic):

This is the most useful key you will find.
On top of this you can use lots of bits of HTML in pages too.
My favorate trick is look at someones personal space (by clicking on thier name) or a neat looking gude entry and then replacing the U in the address of their page with the word 'test' - then you can see all the code for their page. That way you can steal everyone elses neat ideas and incorporate them into your own page.
Personally i can never decide between Quicey and Columbo - as a kid, Quicey was the man, but as i get older, it's Columbo i fall for every time - though there i a place deep within me which is forever M.E. If you know what i mean.
love and other stories,

Hi there Autist,
Nice of you to stop in. I'd invite you to come up to the lab, and see what's on the slab, but then I'd be dating myself, and I haven't been divorced THAT long.
An ex-undertaker. Now THERE'S a job I could never do. I think that's universally true between M.E.'s and undertakers. Prettifying and puffing up a corpse to look pretty in a grave makes me nauseous just thinking about it. I meet plenty undertakers in my job, and they think we've got the Evil Eye or something.
I never liked Peter Falk's one squinty eye, and that dirty trench-coat... no class. He was too coarse for my taste. I KNOW the show "Quincy" is why I decided to do forensic pathology. Not that the show was all that accurate. It's mostly lab work and smelling like formaldehyde all the time, and morgues are effing freezing all the time. It's not a fun job, but that show just made it into the coolest kind of detective-work there is, and sometimes (not at all often, really) it is the coolest detective-work there is.
Talk to you soon, and thanks so much for all the links!

And as soon as you think about it, that opening sequence where he's examining the body as though its a corpse and then its a prime young filly - its distasteful to say the least.
