My Entries and a New Computer
Posted Mar 8, 2002
Well, I've been making a few new entries. One is the Mint Skittles entry. A need to make that edit-able material soon. The other is subwoofers - while I spotted an entry on sound systems including subwoofers in them, I did not spot a subwoofer only entry, which I intend to make. If you know about sound systems, stop by and lend me a hand, I know less than I pertend to .
I'm getting a new computer Saturday! A PC, but a nice one as PCs go (I'm a Mac guy). It's just cheaper, and I'm one broke bloke. But it'll be in my room! It'll play DVDs! It'll burn CDs! It'll do cool stuff! More specifically, its a custom built computer I'm buying parts for and making with the help of a friend. I know some, but not enough for that. Anyway, it's gunna have an AMD Athalon XP 1700MHz, 62MB Nvida GeForce2, 4X AGP Video, some DVD drive or other, a 40GB HD, that sort of thing. It all depends on the deal I can get at the computer fair on the 9th. Anyway, see you all around. And check out my entries!

Finally Using my Journal!
Posted Mar 3, 2002
Yes, I'm finally using my journal!
Just started using ResEdit (A Mac-only program that lets you mess with files), got a patch that lets me access the resource fork, and skinned iTunes. It's quite fun. Oh, iTunes, that reminds me, I got Mac OS 9 and downloaded iTunes, which is really cool because most of my CDs are MP3ized onto my computer so all I need are headphones to listen to a long list of songs while I'm working at the computer. I've also been doing some major updating to the thing - it's a 4 year old iMac, the original Bondi Blue 233Mhz deal, and hasn't had a system software update since the day we got it at OS 8.5. It's now OS 9, and I'm debating about installing further OSes, because they got some nasty ratings on http://www.download.com (I can use URLs now and intend to, g**d****t!). If anyone here has done the OS 9 to OS 9.1 and eventually to 9.2.2 trip, I'd like to hear from you on how it went. Anyway, that's all. See you around, everybody!
