Just when you think things are never going to get any better, they suddenly take a turn for the worse...

My day has been an absolute nightmare!
My Assistant Headteacher came out to a school to monitor my performance with a small group.
Everything went wrong. The room we normally use was not available, which sounds minor until you become aware that I was working with a group including a child with Asperger's Syndrome, a condition on the autistic spectrum. That, coupled with the fact that there was a strange adult in the room we eventually found (the library), was enough to unhinge him almost completely.
The "good role model" had had a rotten playtime and was in a huff after a row from the class teacher , the only child in the group with a pencil had broken his arm since last week and couldn't write, the rest of the group, who are usually very animated, became almost elective mutes and wouldn't speak and after ten minutes the whole of Primary Seven trooped in unsupervised to change their library books!
At that point, my AHT burst out laughing and left the room!
I should be writing my assignment, but I am drained!

Space
Posted Apr 9, 2003
I just updated my space and I'm quite chuffed with it.
Greig helped me a lot with it, but there's a fair bit that I have done on my own.
It's the Easter break and I have a million and one things to do: lessons to plan and prepare; an assignment to research, plan and write; a poem to write for my mum to read at her bosses retirement 'do'; the house to gut and render in a fit state to sell...
So, I'm updating my space and posting here until the wee small hours!
Procrastination is really a fine art, is it not?
