Snow!
Posted Dec 12, 2017
I'm sure there have been lots of conversations about this, but this is mine.
Snow has been the order of the season. We've had over a foot at my house, which is the most I've ever seen without driving out into the hills. It's both exciting and, of course, irritating. I've got my walking poles out and have been walking in to work with those. They've saved me falling over a couple of times.
In other news I discovered a new colleague is also a D&D player, and she and I nerded out delightfully over shared geekery this morning. New friend!

Poorly again!

Tonsilitis this time.
Honestly, so far this has been easier than last week, where I was beyond-normally fatigued, with my brain spacing out and bumping into walls and mental health crashing way way below normal. The combination of whatever-it-was was actually starting to get a little scary, but the worst of that seems to have eased now. Mostly progesterone, I think, plus a weekend of not sleeping enough, and probably the early onset of the tonsilitis.
Tonsilitis, by comparison, has some pain when I swallow, a weird taste in my mouth, and a tender neck and ears. I've also been given a week off of work which is good because I am far too tired to manage to walk there. It's inconvenient timing but there's nothing I can do; even if I went in I wouldn't be well enough to produce anything coherent.
There is still a risk that I may have glandular fever, but the nurse said we'd have to treat the bacterial infection in my throat and ears regardless. If I'm still fatigued by Thursday I'm to go back and they'll take bloods to see if there's anything else going on. I am crossing all fingers that this won't be needed though.
All hail penicillin!

House
Posted May 23, 2017
I have a new one.
It is light, and airy.
It has lots of things that need either fixing or replacing.
It has a lovely garden, which now have seeds planted.
I'm doing OK; I had a bad day yesterday, with both mental and physical health taking a nosedive into awfulness, but a good dose of junk food, chocolate and NotCake managed to perk me up admirably (you would have thought healthy food, but that didn't cut it. I had to break out the Terry's Chocolate Orange to get me out of this one). The weather is delghtful, I am playing D&D this evening, and in general things are looking up.

Crickey, this is hard. I'm writing up a D&D session. The first writeup came quite easily but I'm really struggling to keep focus on this one!
I've come to a natural break though, maybe I should give it a rest. It is 10:30pm, and I'm still not sleeping well, I should let myself rest. At least I've written *something*, and it's not like I actually have a deadline to go whooshing by...

Still coughing
Posted Mar 3, 2017
This cough is still going, although I do believe I am over the worst of it now. Sadly my voice is broken but hey, that happens.
Working a full week was curiously no bother. Now is at school, and he's decided he likes after school club (which he initially despised) it is quite chilled. I've even figured out a new route that gets me an extra mile walk to to pick him up, which I'm really enjoying.
The house move has stalled, and we may need to find a different house to purchase. We've seen one that could be the compromise we can live with, so we will see if we can view it this weekend. Such is the nature of house buying. At least the survey got delayed, otherwise we would have lost £630 with no hope it getting it back.
