Food and things
Posted Feb 25, 2017
On the downside, I can't shift this cough. It's been a week and a half and I'm just a bit fed up with it, really.
On the plus side, I have a new fitness watch and it is encouraging me to get out of the house and do more exercise, so that's great. I've even lost a couple of pounds, which may be unrelated but I don't think so. It's the thing of just paying attention to oneself, I suppose.
I've also bought a batch of Huel, which is a food replacement powder. Seriously, they say you can live off of this stuff of you wanted. I don't want to, but it is very useful and knowing it has a bunch of vitamins and micronutrients and protein and stuff means that when I'm just too tired to cook I can eat something good for me rather than just reaching for crisps or something. I also like to make up a batch in the morning, mentally allocate the calories, and then drink it over the course of a morning or something, which fits me better than having a meal and then having to wait.
A full week at work next week (I work part time) which is going to be a shock to the system. On the plus side the overtime cash will be handy, so I can't complain too much.
Right, I must get up and get to the supermarket. No plans for the weekend yet but food will always be required!

The new year starts now.
Posted Feb 8, 2017
Well, maybe a couple of weeks ago, but still. After a tough December and January I'm starting to think February might be OK.
After eighteen months on the market we have finally sold our house and had an offer accepted on one we want to buy.
Mr Vip and I had some Proper Serious conversations about Life, the Universe and Everything and feel much better for it.
I've been able to resign as the Secretary for my local orchestra, which had turned into a horrid political mess. Lots of people have thanked me for my tenure and apologised for me getting caught up in it, which, while it didn't make the whole thing any better at the time at least makes it clear it wasn't me.
There are still things I'm worried about - my ongoing minor health niggles, house moving worries and some LRPing worries (because my brain will never let me rest) but they all seem a lot more manageable now that those other stressors are out of the way.

Guitar-ing and sing-ing
Posted Jan 13, 2017
A couple of days ago I promised myself I'd spend some more time with my guitar.
My fingertips are pretty sore but I've found it really helpful to step away from the real world and sing songs of another life*.
I'm not great but I do now have enough fluency to accompany myself to a couple of things, which is big progress for me.
And now practice time is over, time for vacuuming. Oh, the excitement!

Getting started it always the hardest part...
Posted Jan 10, 2017
So after a very difficult meeting last night, which was very unpleasant, I now have the fun task of reliving the whole experience in the form of sorting out and writing up my notes.
I don't wanna.
It isn't going to get any better by leaving it, so I will have to tackle it tonight, but still... I don't wanna.

... and all of a sudden you've locked yourself out of your account and half your Space links no longer work.
*waves*
Long time no squeak, h2g2. How is everyone? Where are the cool kids* hanging out these days?

*Yes, you.
