Fear not my evil twin! I know that you are not truly evil in your deepest heart of hearts! I shall not give up! You shall be turned from the dark side of the force!

... the dark side ... give in to the dark side ...
Wait just a cotton picking minute!
I'm afraid of the dark! It's full of boogie monsters!
May I just join the *nightlight* side of the force?

l always have chosen the light side of the force. lt not just a job it an adventure. Love adventures l renamed USMC US Mostly Crazy. So l can't argue that point. Most Marines that l've known are crazy in a sane way of course.

If being in the marines doesn't make them clinically crazy to begin with...

Well actually you go past crazy. That way you can handle crazy better. You would have to be crazy to intentionly get shot at and dodge bombs l guess it's a Man thing.

I knew someone who joined during "peacetime" with the idea that it was a good way to get some experience..... then we had 9-11...

A tragic event . hope things are well with him. The Marines are tough with ya, but it would 'nt get any easier in combat. On a positve note Marines have traditionally less caualties than the Army most think it has to do with the training. Besides things are cooling down hopefully in Afganistan. And your friend will be alright. Don't look like it will be to soon if we deal with lraq. Also it would depend what MOS (job) your friend has in the Marines. Whether he sees action or not.

this guy is a young man my daughter's age - and he is in a part that will not likely see action. so that's good.
