Who am I?
Aside from the deeper philosophical aspects of this question, this is a bit about me.
Good news, I am no longer just a number! Thanks to advice from a couple of ACE's I have changed into The Boffin. My real name is Jeremy and I have been described by others as various things, but most often the words "mad", "scientist", "boffin" or "enigma" seem to crop up in these descriptions somewhere, hence the nickname.
My interests centre around aviation and technology. Until a couple of years ago I was a Principal Scientist with a Government agency, but now most of my work centres around engineering of one form or another. I currently fly a small single seat homebuilt aircraft (when the British weather allows).
I have built a couple of cars, a small yacht and am just starting to build yet another aeroplane. I seem to spend whatever free time I have designing solutions to technical problems, sometimes for myself, but as often as not for someone else.
My current project (the Easy Raider aeroplane) includes a few interesting challenges. Instead of buying an aircraft engine I have decided to convert a BMW motorcycle engine into an aero engine. I can't pass up the challenge of doing something just a bit differently.......
