Surprise! I read your intro! Welcome to h2g2, 1005! My name is Shea, and I am an Assistant Community Editor (ACE). We're a group of volunteers that wander around h2g2 welcoming and helping new Researchers. If you want to ask me a question, or need help with anything, just hit the "Reply" button and leave a message, I'll come back in and help you in any way I can!
If you're interested, I made a page with a list of links that you might like to check out. It's at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A534953
If you ever want to talk to a Researcher, just click on their name. That will take you to their Personal Space, and you can leave them a message there (like I'm doing now!) by clicking on the 'Discuss this Entry' button.
Most importantly 1005, have fun! You might find yourself meeting some great new friends! I know I have!

Yes I have a question for you. I appolgise but I haven't read everything just yet, Can I put my own pictures up on a journal or a contribution? I tried grunting at my computer but it just wouldn't give me the answer.

Hi! Sorry but we can only use BBC-approved pictures right now. You have to be using GuideML. Here's the page with all the pictures we can use:

Er... yeah thanks... little embarrassed because I realied that just after I sent the message.
Any plans you know of to change in that in the near the future? I wouldn't mind adding my own pictures and possibly some flash swf files.

Unfortunately, there's all sorts of copyright issues that the BBC has to deal with. However, you can always have flash swf stuff elsewhere, and have links to it on your homepage or in an Entry.

Right now I work for the online version of a newspaper, so that's all I've really done. I'm taking a web design course in school right now, and have made a couple of sites, but they're not online anywhere.
I'm taking an animation course right now. We're doing traditional animation and flash. It's great! Do you have any sites you've done?

I'm not actually in the business at the moment...
I studied an engineering degree with a bias towards presentation work, 3d simulation and animation.
However I've been sitting in japan for the past three years so I have kept my fingers in the world of Multi Media by teaching myself a bit of flash and working on my 3d portfoilio. Unfortunately no completed sites that are worthy of showing people. Just my own pratice on my HD.
