Merry Meet! 
I'm tired (just come back from a weekend shiatsu course) but well thanks - my Man and I got to Avebury this evening in time for the sunset which was lovely. 
And the anniversary of our 'official' betrothal!

I keep meaning to update it, but seeing as I haven't even got around to writing a journal entry about my wedding in July, I think that updating this page will have to wait for a bit...

It is indeed like acupressure.
Shiatsu is based on traditional oriental medicine, which views the body as having channels or "meridians" through which the energy of the body flows. If that energy is blocked or behaving badly in any way then imbalance and illness can result.
Acupuncture (or indeed acupressure) aims to rebalance the energy of the body by using specific points on the meridans: shiatsu aims to work the whole meridan (through touch/pressure) to bring balance to the body in an holistic way.
Oh and it feels nice.
