I'm not really here

This - http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A636914 - is waiting for the edited guide. Which means it gets edited and becomes 'published'. (It's taking a bloody long time, but that's not the point.) I thought I ask you for your opinion anyway. smiley - smiley
If you want to write more about herbs and stuff, then you can make a new entry (it saves you wiping it out when you want to update your user space), there should be a link somewhere on the page, if you are using the white skin then I'm not sure where it will be although as a Guru I should.

Had a look at your guide on infused oils - looks fine to me honey. Maybe you could mention the "Fragrant Pharmacy" by Valerie Ann Worwood in case anyone wants to look up uses for oils, or other oils they could make?

You have to change your page to GuideML. It is a little radio button on the bottom of the edit box. Then you have to get into putting little paragraph tags and things in to make it work properly, as it will be like putting code in.
If you are interested, have a look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/DontPanic-GuideML
I'm not the best with GuideML, but basic stuff I can help you with. Anything I can't, I know a researcher who can. smiley - smiley

Hi (whole bunch of numbers....maybe you sould try giving yourself a name?)

You're right, not much on my page about aloe vera - that's something I should remedy!
Aloe Vera does indeed come in many forms - tablets, gel, liquid etc, but I have only had personal experience of the gel really. Well apart from growing the plant that is.

Sho - employed again!

Is it easy to grow? Do you grow from seed?

It's such a nice looking plant, I'd love to have a go. (I've just now discovered a liking for gardening - something which I've hated all my life)

Hi Sho

I've just started growing aloe vera - a friend of mine gave me a baby plant as a moving present a few months ago. I don't know how you start growing them from scratch though.
As far as I know, the adult plants 'bud' a new plant (a bit like spider plants) from the base, which can then be transplanted (I don't know the proper terms as I am not up on garderning or horticulture...)
My aloe vera has started producing babies now, so maybe I could send you one?!
They are quite easy to grow, as long as they have lots of light and you don't overwater them.

Think I'm going to look this up on the net - if I find anything interesting I'll post a link here.

apparently....
The leaves of the Aloe Plant grow from the base in the rosette pattern. Mature plants can grow as tall as two and one half inches to 4 feet with the average being around 28-36 inches in length. Each plant usually has 12-16 leaves that, when mature may weigh up to 3 pounds. The plants can be harvested every 6-8 weeks by removing 3 to 4 leaves per plant.
