"her" meant the Teflon coated one. sorry for any careless ambiguity.
note to self: be more carefully ambiguous

My mistake. I thought you meant Strident Duplicity. I make mistakes, especially where that's concerned.
I said hello for the reasons I gave. Novelty, brevity, poetry. Sadness. I would have said hello to "her", the Teflon coated one, if she'd come into a conversation I was having like you did. I say hello to many people all the time. I never had the occasion to say hello to her, particularly - there are a *lot* of people here and I don't know if I've "met" her anywhere where there's a "serious" conversation going on. I did have occasion to say hello to you. If you or she rub me up the wrong way, deliberately or otherwise, the worst you'll get is some nasty joke or play on words. I told you, I don't know when not to joke. That's what got me Warned.
As for Billy Evans - sick. Not too sick, as such. I didn't laugh, but I didn't cry. I'd say I was almost exactly in between, just thinking "yes, I can see how that works". What's the point of it? Or isn't there one?
Not wanting to ask too many questions at once, I'll leave it there.

being able to click unsubscribe is one of the beauties of this place along with being able to sit under the table and listen without having to feel selfconscious.
and people are kind when you ask silly questions.
why might fading into the background not be wise?
yes. not knowing when not to joke has always landed me in hot water too. if you promise to always assume there may be a joke lurking in my most po faced pronouncements i will do the same with respect to you. deal?
(so hard having to behave)
tried searching google for bulimia jokes but it didnt bring up anything.
ditto the reaction to the "you've been framed" genre.
gosh what a wonderful descriptive name. that sort of wordplay makes me feel quite at home. can i bring my sleeping bag and hot water bottle and move in when there is no one home at the campfire of chaos?
actually you and the sabretooth have passed several times but mostly in busy threads.
a couple of weeks ago someone sent a chain email to little behemoth and she thought she would be generous and share the guilt trip so she posted it in the yahoo group cellar of chaos. yesterday ~jwf~ hauled it out and threw it on the campfire.
just thought you might appreciate it.
no point. just sick satire?
need to stop typing for tonight.

Oh yes. Very much so.
>along with being able to sit under the table and listen without having to feel selfconscious.
Bajoran expression? "spider under the table" = "fly on the wall". Star Trek, Next Generation, Year 7, episode "Lower Decks", character Sito Jaxa. How nerdy am I?
>and people are kind when you ask silly questions.
I *love* that about this place.
>why might fading into the background not be wise?
I don't know. It was a question. I don't know the answer. I just thought you were here for a reason. Reasons pass, in which case you could too. There are others of you here, are there not? Other reasons come along, though, so you may find you want to stay here, as you. Fading into the background is a choice. Only you can know whether it is wise, I just thought I'd remind you to consider it.
>yes. not knowing when not to joke has always landed me in hot water too. if you promise to always assume there may be a joke lurking in my most po faced pronouncements i will do the same with respect to you. deal?
Deal. Why don't they have lessons on this stuff in school? "Comedy - when not to use it". Lesson 1: When appearing in court. etc.
>(so hard having to behave)
Behave how you like. Like I said - be new, post once, be poetic. Check, check and check. Anything else is just a bonus.
>tried searching google for bulimia jokes but it didnt bring up anything.
I can't believe I had to read that twice before I got it!
>ditto the reaction to the "you've been framed" genre.
I usually laugh at animals doing animal stuff that doesn't hurt them, and babies are usually a riot. It's just the predictable "man slips on ice and breaks pelvis, ho ho" that makes me wince.
>gosh what a wonderful descriptive name. that sort of wordplay makes me feel quite at home. can i bring my sleeping bag and hot water bottle and move in when there is no one home at the campfire of chaos?
Of course. Due to fire safety regulations I'm on gas here (the flame's a slightly lighter shade of bloo so you can tell us apart) so the hot water bottle may not be necessary. Don't forget your toasting fork for the marshmallows, though.
>actually you and the sabretooth have passed several times but mostly in busy threads.
That's why I said "serious". Having said that, *she* never said hello to *me* either. Not that I mind, no biggie...
>...chain email to little behemoth
Hoo?

Hoo?

I did. I like it, sort of. Not "like" as such. I don't know. I "appreciate" it. Definitely.
Til next...
