Proud mum

So, why no journal entries for a while? Well, I've been a wee bit busy...

In the last year I've produced two brand spanking new websites (not on my own obviously) and one beautiful little daughter (ditto... although I can claim credit for most of the hard work on that one!)

Not bad, eh?

A national sporting triumph... and a small personal achievement

In honour of England's heroic victory over Australia in the second Ashes Test, I've made a small gesture of my own: I've submitted my first entry to the Guide (cricket-related, naturally).

I'm very excited. And rather proud. smiley - smiley

Cricket but no tv

So, it's 2nd Test, Day 2 and England look like they're doing ok. We made 407 yesterday and have taken 3 wickets this morning (yay! smiley - biggrin)

So what's the problem?

Well, despite the fact that there are televisions all round my office, I can't watch the cricket as they're all tuned to news channels. Obviously, this is what they're intended to be used for but wouldn't it be nice to keep an eye on our boys?

I didn't get to watch Wimbledon either. smiley - wah

Not so limey now!

Harry Lime has gone brown!

Having got used to his cheerful bright green colour, it was a bit of a surprise, despite the OH having warned me that this would happen. Apparently, this means that he's now ready to pupate.

We've moved him from his lime twigs to a nice cosy pile of earth in which he can burrow, along with some leaves in case he's still hungry. So now we wait...

Meet Harry Lime...

We've acquired a new pet.

Last night, the Other Half got home to find a Lime Hawk-Moth caterpillar attached to his cricket bag. (OH turns out to be alarmingly well informed about caterpillars and moths. Should I be concerned by this?)

We've now established the little chap in a box in the kitchen and have fetched him a good selection of lime leaves to munch/sleep on.

So what would a Graham Greene fan like OH nickname a Lime Hawk-Moth? Why, Harry Lime, of course!
