Good Night!
The Dragonlady~There are no ugly women in the world, only neglected ones! Started conversation Oct 15, 2002
I saw you were on-line, and decided to say Good-Night.
I am very tired, and am making many typographical errors, so I must find some sleep. (It certainly does not find me lately. I have been experiencing many nightmares in the last week.)
I hope you are well.
I wish you great blessings today!
I just wrote a very negative journal entry, and feel rather sad. It helps me to think you are out there.
Anyway, I must sleep, and get my brood to bed, too.

I stopped in one more time, as I can not fall asleep. It seems to be a rather popular state of being around here.
I don't know why I am so afraid to fall asleep tonight. I think all of the uncertainties in my llife have finally gotten to me.
Bless You, Dear.
I hope you can get some sweet sleep. I will say a prayer for you tonight.
Talk to you soon.
Karen
Hi Again!

I haven't heard from you in a bit, so I thought I would say hi!
It is getting down to the nitty-gritty, when it comes to our move. Only 7 more days!
I am getting to know the donkey very well, as he demands a lot of attention. We were given two piglets, and they are VERY cute!
Since the house hasn't been lived in for a long time, we have caught five mice in traps in the last few days. Our cats will be in seventh heaven there!
There is even a new batch of African Geese there. And some new ducks, chickens, and new sheep. And a brand-new baby lamb that we were fortunate enough to witness being born.
The new landlord is putting in all new windows tomorrow. He is also putting in a woodstove to help with heating. (It is oil heat, and can be rather costly, not to mention bad for the environment.) He is willing to buy paint in the colors I want (ANY colors I want) so I can paint the inside of the house. He is even going to shingle the house in the spring.
I hope you are well, Luv. Is life as busy as usual for you? Have you done anything fun lately?
I was diagnosed with clinical depression coupled with anxiety yesterday. The doctor said it is a direct result of the past year's events. I refuse to fill my body full of horrible chemicals, all in the name of "modern medicine", so I have opted to try seratonin therapy.
Anyway, I won't keep you.
Keep well! If I don't talk to you soon, I will find you after we move.

My very dear Friend so full of courage
Sorry I have not written but my hands have been very bad and most incredibly painful with the wretched type of psoriatic arthritis which I suffer from. It feels as if my finertips have all been burnt on the stove.
Your new home sounds great my love. Now for your depression. Can I suggest that you take brewers yeast. I was incredibly depressed after my husband died and I had a bad motor accident when I broke my right hand in seven places!!. I went to see a psychiatrist who put me onto tablets which were mavelllous. A week later I went back feeling wonderful so he doubled the dose!!. The result was I lost my sense of balance - came to visit my mother (I was still living in South africa then) and fell in and out of buses and tubes. Everyone thought I was drunk!!. anyway when I got to my daughter in australia she put me onto brewers yeast and that has sustained me for the last seventeen years. You have tons of guts and I am sure that this will do the trick.
A wonderful friend is taking me to France tomorrow for lunch in order to help cheer me up!!.
Go well my dear Dragonlady with all your menagerie. Tell your s how fortunate they are!!. With much AR1

Hello Dear!
It is so good to hear from such a good friend.
I do hope your hands are better!!!
Moving was difficult. It's over, though. Now all we have to do is organize the chaos of having food in the living room, toothbrushes in the laundry, and kitty litter in the kitchen.
Our stove has finally been hooked-up, and we can have hot meals again. I am making home-made chicken soup tonight.
I enjoyed your rendition of the experience of falling out of busses and tubes!
My are having a jolly time. I think, however, that they have caught all of the mice inside the house. YES!
The are having fun with the donkey, too. The little one got nipped on the behind, for coming too close, and teasing the poor donkey. (Donkey's name is Monty.)
Since I haven't been here for almost a week, there are many people to write to. I must take some time and reply to many postings, so I won't say toomuch right now.
My page should be updated soon. I hope you will be able to check back.
DO take care, Dear. I am very glad to have heard from you!

Thanks ever so much for the beautiful flowers!
We spent an eventful day here. It is my 6th child's 9th birthday today. We also spent the better part of 8 hours trying to find the satellite signal for the t.v., with no success. Then a pig escaped the pen, like a common criminal, and 7 of us people chased it back home from the field it ran into. But not until the (of "Broken Dog" fame) picked a fight with the stupid pig.
I hope you are well. Are your fingers better yet?
I am not staying on too long, as I have to get the kids ready for school tomorrow.
DO take care of yourself, Dear.
Talk to you again soon.

Hi dear Karen
Glad you liked the flowers.
An escaped pig!!What a wonderful sight it must have been to see you all trying to get it back into it's pen. You had better warn your that it is now in rural surroundings and it must NOT chase pigs!!
Hope you get the satellite TV signal soon.
Sleep tight.
Much AR1
PS My fingers are still sore but much better. But mys spirit - thank the Lord - has come back.

Keep well,Luv.
I feel a little empathy for you today, as my thumb is rather sore. Typing has done nothing to improve it. (Did I mention I broke the silly thing) It is probably nothing close to what you have been feeling, but it might help to know that someone else has a {sort of} similar pain.
gave me my Christmas present early. I pestered him for almost two hours today, asking him what he got me. He finally mumbled something incoherent about 'knowing how much I like jewelry, especially those darned rings', and gave me a little grey velvet box with a very pretty solitaire in it. Then he sheepishly looked at me and mumbled (again) 'Now, don't get all excited, or anything like that. It's just a silly ring.'
But, by that time, I had already jumped in his lap and started kissing his face all over, saying 'thank-you, thank-you, thank-you', between kisses. If he hadn't been dressed in his uniform, and ready to go to work, I might not have stopped there.
Keep your spirits high!
I will tell you another story about Monty (the donkey) another day. He is such a funny pet!

Why is the mushroom always invited to parties?
- Because he is a fungi.
Why did the turkey cross the road?
- It was the chicken's day off.
There were two snakes in the forest. One asked, "Are we poisonous?" "Why?" replied the other. "Because I just bit my lip!"
-
Two peanuts walked into an alley. One was "asalted." The other was roasted.
-
What do you call a no eyed deer?
- No idea!
Why did the television station fire its weatherchicken?
- Because he always predicted "fowl" weather!

Very dear Karen
How simply wonderful. I am so pleased and he seems like a super guy. I know is what he carries, but couldn't we call him by another smiley?
I also liked your jokes though I did not understand many of them!
I have had a busy day - everything takes such a long time. How did you break your thumb? I am sure that it is very painful. It is my fingertips that are so sore - still - and it is difficult to type without using one's fingertips.
Sleep tight

I have asked for a smiley, as well as a smiley, but they haven't been created yet.
The smiley is used because he had given me a set of regulation handcuffs, to ensure I would feel safe around him. When I asked why, he simply said that he knew that I had experienced some great fears in my marriage, and wanted me to be assured that if I ever felt afraid of him, all I had to do was put the handcuffs on him, and call the police. (He was really serious about wanting me to feel safe, although not really serious about putting them on him.)
Anyway, after dinner one night, I had excused myself to the washroom, and said that I would be right back to do the dishes. started doing them, even though I had said I would. So, I snuck into the bedroom, and got the handcufffs off of the dresser (where they were kept), and snuck up behind , grabbed his arm, and put them on him, and made him sit down to watch me do the dishes.
When I went to get the key from the dresser, it wasn't there I looked for 15 minutes for the silly thing, and we were starting to think that we would have to call someone at work, to bring another key! How embarrassing!
It turned out that the key had fallen underneath the bed, and we didn't have to call anyone.
I broke my thumb by trying to lift the television by myself, and dropping it on my thumb. It is a 33 inch screen, and weighs a ton! The kids weren't too interested in helping me until I dropped it, either.
I also broke my nose by trying to smash a with a pail.
I hope your fingers are feeling a bit better?! Does hydrotherapy help, or make it worse?
Well, I must go for now. The are home from school, and are looking for food. They will eat the entire pantry if I don't get to it right away!

My dear Karen,
Next time will you let your friend do the washing up!!. And thank the Lord that you have a good man who is prepared to help you. And do not go messing about weith You could have been mighty embarassed as you say!.
Seriously though I am so pleased that you have a friend you values you and affirms you and who helps you.
How is your menagerie of farm animals. It must be quite a job feeing and watering them. Do the young help?
If you feel like some virtual sun tomorrow come to visit me at Plettenberg Bay in South Africa and you will be able to surf and go whale watching and experience a South African BBQ. I talk about it in my posting on" the picnic."
Sleep tight Fond

Sweet Dreams, Luv
My menagerie is quite the source of amusement for everyone! The has taken to knocking on the door, so we will be sure to remember his carrots.
The children's father came up from the city today, to visit for the weekend, and he had a blast feeding the pigs. He says it's an excellent analogy when somone makes a comment about a person who 'eats like a pig'.
The come right to the door, as well. Except they run away when we open the door. They are very skittish.
Athena, the German Sheppard, chases Monty around the yard. It is extra comical when Monty reverses directions and starts after Athena.
The kids absolutely love feeding the animals. I know moving here was a good decision for me.
It is one of the human species that is worrying me now. I believe my 15 year old daughter is pregnant. If that is the case, I am not going to allow her to stay at home. She has caused too much chaos as it is. I could not handle her and a baby. It would be too much for me.
It would be a hard lesson for her, and I'm sure she will feel like I am not being fair. Her sister was allowed to stay home when she had her baby. But, they are different people, and "T" has already been the source of too much distress for all of us.
I believe it is time for her to take accountability for her own chioces, as hard as that will be for me to enforce.
I do so love my children. ALL OF THEM!
I simply can not handle any more chaos from her.
Karen
