Thank you my dearest Pan for your wonderful letter,
We are off in a few minutes to Pembury Hospital where K. will have two hours investigatory tests at the Diabetic Clinic. This appointment was made TEN MONTHS AGO!!.
I shall write or email you (can you receive them?) either this evening or tomorrow.
Take care of your dear self - Oh boy!! I would have loved to see the eye specialist's face when you told him that you were not there for a liver transplant. and I LOVED the story of your Hungarian grandmother!!.
Incidentally do Indian ghosts wear headfeather crowns? I thought you might know!!
Fondest from your ever admiring

Odd, some might say...but while you were off with K. for blood tests, I was in the pharmacy looking at two new typed of testing devices & wondering if you had the 'latest'?? It's painless! I'm certain K. would welcome it. And the numbers a rather large digital things.
Do you have one? Want one?
Yes!! I CAN receive E-mails. IT's just sending them that can be tricky. Makes me quiet unhappy when I take the time to write a nice long E & then watch it vanish, only to have a note pop up telling me: The E-mail was unable to be sent.I just hate when that happens.
The eye Dr. is wonderful as is his wife. My eyes are still funny from the drops he put into them...he said they would glow in the dark as well as look odd under a black light.
As it's Veteran's Day I am getting ready to go out. I am going to The American Legion Canteen & drink with some of the Veterans.
I have my father's 'wings' pinned to my demin dress as well as a stick on flag over my heart.
I usually wear a special vest...with pins many Veterans have given me.
But it's so warm...& I intend to have my good share of bourbon.
Maybe a bit more than my share!
I'll let you know if I awaken looking like the Queen Mum!
I LOVE stories about my grandparents! Wine makers for a Count...after they lost their Royal place after some battle or other. Nagymuma was actually sold to The Count when she was nine as a kitchen maid & cook!
To the winemakers of the World!
I'll keep an eye out for your E-mail!

Oh dear dear Pandora
Not again!!.
Do you like bourbon? My darling Dick used to love it. Am I right if I seem to remember it as Southern Comfort? and he had special glasses to serve it in.
I shall send you an email tomorrow so that you can read it when your head is feeling less woozy and your eyes are no longer glowing in the dark!!.
Sleep tight dear one.

Oh I was 'tight' alright! (American for drunk!)
Southern Comfort is sweet. They make something called: 'Long Island Ice Tea' out of it! You must ask for onw when you're in New York! In fact, I'll buy you one. (at a time)
I was drinking straight Jack Daniels!
Distilled bourbon. From Tennessee. The last man to ask if he could buy me a drink was quiet surprised when he found out what I was drinking. hahahaha...I don't often drink but when I do I tend to make up for lost time.Mama was always proud of me. Nobody could ever tell when I was 'in my cups'. I told her it was due to all the money she spent sending me to Charm School. They taught me how to pose.
I learned on my own that you could gracefully stagger out of a room if you aimed your reach at the backs of chairs.
And what of K.'s 'work-up'??? And the good Sister?
And are you able to get one of these painless blood testers? I think they are called: Aciview or something along those lines. Fri or Sat I shall be at the pharmacy again & can pick one up for you.
Let me know. They show a little girl of three testing herself on her arm. I'm going to get my neice K. one so she won't have to ever use a lance again. I would have gotten her one last wekk but I became distracted speaking with so many people.
I have a new cordless phone now too...so I won't be restricted to going into my office to speak on the telephone! Life certainly seems to be becoming easier.Must be getting over the grumpy spell I had after mac dined on all that w*rk of mine!
The eye-guy was handsome, I mean educated! He explained why my EMS makes my eyes tear...as we spoke he said, "You're alot like me!"
Wonder if I should return to him?? He gave me a purse full of drops for my eyes! He took them out of a cupboard, I unzipped my purse & he tossed them in!
He sent me to a web-site for a differnt eye test.
www.drbutlry.com
He also had me measure the distance between my face & mac. He said most people guess wrong...I told him MY guess-ta-mation was 20-30".
I got the measure tape & it was 11-28". Depending if I was reading or writing.
The reading glasses I picked out called to me from the 'wall-of-frames'...they are lilac rimmed & a nice shape for my face.
I tried on others...but as I modeled them...the other patients all said, "Camolot!" (the brand of glasses the 1st pair of purple ones)
Dr Burley's wife said, "Oooo I like you! I knew when I saw what you wrote on your papers I was going to!(I need reading glasses not a liver transplant) And when you said the glasses picked YOU! I knew you were a very cool person."
She must be in a cult!!! They want my money, oh, I have none, they want my 1st born! Oh, I have none. Time will tell.
To you & yours AR1
P.S.
mac has stopped 5-6 times whilst writing this post...you see why I am unable to get an E off?? Thassss progress!
I Do hope you read this before E-ing me....as I haven't set up my earthlink addy (& shant until I have a new computer)...do you still have my fan mail addy?
[email protected]
You're on my safe list...so your E will go to the 'in-box'.
