Hi there Alos Ran!
* puts the coffee on *
I hope you dont mind me stopping by. I am LighthousegirlUK, but most people call me Light - far less of a mouthfull. A mutual friend of ours, the lovely Lurcher, suggested I came by as he thinks we will get along
I see you have had some fun and games to get to be here but I am glad you made it back.
I really enjoy the wonderful people here and the chance to play with ideas (and often daft ones). Although RL seems to get in the way rather a lot at the moment How are you finding it?
I hope to hear from you soon
Have fun
Light

Hi Light, What a lovely name. Thanks I'd love some coffee - and do you have croissants? Just one, and plain. I think I have already been pointed in your direction by the captain of the Pirate ship. Am I correct in thinking this?. Unfortunately I got cold feet at the last moment. Yes, I have met some wonderfully kind and compassionate people. I tried to be what I am not in the beginning, and once I realised I could be me, life is fine again. I am so lucky to have met both Lurcher and the Paper Lady. Without them I would not have stuck it out.Anyway, I am getting ready for Christmas. I do not know whether I shall have just my brother and my son, or whether three other guests will be coming. I hope we have enough to ea!!It would be great to have a white Christmas. With a and thanks for the coffee. AR1

Good to hear from you! I did not know you knew Amy P (Paperlady) too! They are both great arent they I feel honored to count them both as friends!
It is quite possible that Pierce the Pirate, the Captain, may have pointed you towards the Lighthouse Bar, a small establishment I run on his ship! Its a fun place and people friendly if a little whacky there sometimes. Its much quiteter recently, but then I am not around as much so the service is somewaht slow! Still people can always just help themselves. Some of the people there have amaziong imaginations and the bar now has an internet toaster which produces pre spread toast, a pizza oven which only talks italian and a german cleaning Robot! Pierce and the other pirates are a great bunch too - they often have me laughing out loud - far less embarassing now I am not on line from work!
I know what you mean about being yourself here. To start with I was very reserved and tried to have a character rather than to base it on myself! Light is quite like me, but just less shy and she had far more luck with the boys!
I am so not ready for Christmas! I know its only a week or so away and I really shouold start to get ready! With my new job there seem to be far less hours in the day than there used to be! I will go to my mothers for the day, meet up with my parents, on of my Aunts (my favourite one luckily!), my sister and brother and his family. I will stay unitl Boxin Day when i will come home for a party in the village, followed by a few days of much needed rest and catching up with myself. I would like a white Christmas would be excellent as I could stay here and not travel!

How long will your brother and son be with you? A houseful at Christmas can be fun
See you soon

Dear Light, Will you please put lots of bottles of on ice in the Lighthouse Bar so that all our friends who would like to, can drink to the health of my granddaughter Phillipa who is marrying her super Greg in a lovely garden wedding today at 16.30 - our time 14.30. Perhaps you could order some pizzas so that they can nibble on those!!. I intend to start at 2.30, exactly, drinking to their health and I have a full bottle of to do it with. So I presume that I shall be sleeping very well tonight! Please ask the Pirate Captain - if you see him - to drink to their health as well. !! Great to hear from you. You are a special person. With an affectionate from a still sober AR1

Thank you
I most certainly will put the on ice for you
I hope that Phillipa and Greg are somewhere warmer than Brum was today and that they had a wonderful day. A couple of hours ahead should have made that possible! The buffet will be in the corner by the balcony overlooking a beautiful starry night if you all want to stop by. There is nothing like a good wedding feast of Pizza and
I hope that you enjoyed drinking to their good health and that they have lots of photos tp share when they get back.
I look forward to hearing more about it when they return
See you soon

Dear dear Light, How nice of you to write such a super letter. Yes Dancer and I have met - I think his invitation must have got lost - my apologies! It was just super the little place that you set aside for us. And the champers and pizza were excellent. I do prefer sea food pizza. I wonder about you. You ask me about my two guests. The list has now swelled to five!!. With a possible three also coming. I care for both my relatives because they both have a chronic mental illness. The other three definites, and two possibles (with their daughter who is autistic) also have various problems. So we shall be a full house. But it is something that I have been doing ever since my husband's death. There are a lot of lonely people, and particularly those with various illnesses of this sort. Anyway, my lady who helps me in the house is coming in on Boxing Day to help me tidy up, and we shall lay the table, buffet style, on Christmas Eve. I feel very blessed to be able to care for them. They all give me much love and loyalty, and as one gets older it is marvellous to feel needed and of use. I have not yet finished my Christmas cards. So must in my wheelchair. Thanks again for making us feel so welcome. Philly did not know where they are going to for their month's honeymoon. I am hoping that maybe we might be included in their travel arrangements. With a big AR1

Also Ran!
I am glad you enjoyed the party. Sounds like your granddaughter has found herself a wonderful chap and I too hope that their journey includes a visit.
It sounds like you are going to be very busy over Christmas - that is quite a houseful! I am sure they all really appreciate having you to do that for them. As you say Chirstmas can be such a hard time for people who are alone or who have problems. I should impagine it will be a day of many smile and much laughter for you all.
I am so behind with my Christmas prepairations! I ahve hardly started, what with the new job and everything else. I think some people will be getting Happy january Cards from me My friends from Uni and I use Christmas Cards as a way of keeping in touch, so they usually tuen into letters rather than cards - so take a while to write. This year I am seriously considering the dreaded typed standard letter ...
How are things with you Dancer?

MY dear Light I do hope that you are managing to get on top of the Christmas preparations. I agree with the positive aspects of Christmas cards which help one to keep in touch with friends . But I alao think that this wonderful email is also an answer!. I phoned my daughter and she said that the young honeymooners had gone to Mauritius so there is no hope of a visit here unfortunately. Anyway, they have taken lots of videos so I shall have a feast in the New Year.I have had a wonderful day. I had to go to hospital for the pre-op assessment. The treatment I got from everyone from the ambulance men to every single member of staff was quite wonderful I was very wary about being able to lie down, and do you know that they took me and let me practice on the theatre trolley. I must say it is full marks to the local NHS for the treatment I have received. Also, great news, after an ECG and having my BP taken again, my BP is normal. Hoorah!! I was very upset yesterday because it was sky high. But I had forgotten to take my pills the night before. It just shows that they DO help. So there is still life in the old girl. Very dear Light, have a wonderful Christmas, a happy and prosperous New Year and I hope that at some future "bash" we shall one day meet. With an affectionate the optimistic AR1 I think that I would like to offer you a "golden Cadillac" at your Lighthouse bar. It is Galiano(spelling?) (in a long tall bottle with a thin neck) and cream. My husband used to make them and they are quite fantabulous. That will set you up for the festivities!!
