America's drinking laws- Discuss
Posted Feb 1, 2004
Yeah.
I'm posting this because it's Saturday night, I'm 20 yars old, more than halfway to 21, and am rather drunk. Add to this the fact that my college decided that hard alcohol is the root of all its ills and banned it on campus and I managed to break quite a few rules/laws/policies this evening. All for a few drinks and watching a movie (Finding Nemo for those of you who are interested). Butr of course the reason why university studentds drink to excess is because of hard alcohol and that's why it should be banned. Yeah, hasnt this been tried before, say...Prohibition? Wow, it worked so well then, no wonder people keep trying.
So by now I completely forgot my point but this should be something good for you Flying Betty journal fans to laugh about.

Holidays, Bah!
Posted Dec 28, 2003
Why is it that in elementary and high school when everyone you know lives within a few miles of you, are your vacations so short but then you get to college and your vacations go on for months while your friends are scattered around the country so you have no one to see but the few people you've kept in touch with and not even them if your prents decided to move across the country so that you haave no one to socialize with but your family members?
So yes, not getting into the rampant commercialism of the season, just a general I'm-stuck-here-in-an-unfamiliar-state-with-no-friends-and-my-family-is-everywhere grumble. Now back to your regularly scheduled silence on my journal space.

Chaos

We're moving to Florida. If someone random on the street came and asked me how I wanted to spend my last week or so of summer vacation, not moving to Florida would most likely come to mind immediately.
So my schedule for the next week is as follows:
Tomorrow-panic time
Saturday- moving people take all our stuff away
Sunday and Monday- me, my mom, and the cat and dog drive down to FL
rest of that week- unpack and see where my parents (which means me too) will be living for the next year or so
Saturday- fly back up north
Sunday- back to school, more unpacking
Sometime in the next week or so after- drive to my aunt and uncle's house to pick up some suitcases because there's no way I can actually fit all my school stuff into my car
And actually start classes again
Further bulletins as events, or access to the internet, warrant.
