Scan,
I bet they don't insure you for the 6 bucks an hour? Hope you have some of your own. If anything gets really nasty, run like you don't get paid enough to risk injury.
Hope you get to enjoy something before August

Apollyon, that was a bit of a low blow considering i already said i do do politics at university, fine i do it along with a science but still, Politics should not be called a science but its not exactly a stupid persons thing, it takes just as much intelect (Well at least in Britain it does) to understand the workings of the political world and to understand the modern political system as well as the mistakes made politically in history so that we can learn from them... than it does to fiddle with chemicals or anything of that sort. Yea some idiots do take politics, but some idiots take sciences, some idiots take law, some idiots take many subjects, thats no need to shove the rest of the students in the same boat.

One day! I go away for one day, and I find the debate in my journal!
I think what Apollyon is trying to say is that political science shouldn't be called a "science" because it doesn't follow scientific methods. That's what I think, too.

I agree, i was just offended by this
"people try to make their stupidity respectable by calling it a 'science."
Thats a bit harsh, just a little bit

Hi Scan - sorry to butt into this semantic debate, but just to let you know that I attended a Tom Petty concert in the Cleveland area back in 1989 - is your concert venue an outdoor one or indoor?

It didn't have a kind of pyramid shaped central stage by any chance? I'm darned if I remember the name or even the location of the the stage, but it was hugely impressive.

Well, I don't think this is the one. This is the Post Gazette Pavillion, formerly known as Star Lake Ampitheater, and it's actually nearer to Pittsburgh than Cleveland. Here you go:

I work here. Like I said, nine times out of ten, it absolutely rocks.

Toby Keith is a country singer. After 9/11, he did the song that went something like:
"We'll put a boot in your @$$, courtesy of the red white and blue."
Take a wild guess who that song appeals to...
Sorry, maybe I'm being a little pessimistic after Tom Petty, but I'd rather plan for the worst. Unfortunately, we don't have riot gear.

It actually wasn't too bad- we didn't get jumpers like we did at Tom Petty, and people were generally nice.
It was at the beginning where it got interesting. The band was running late, and they were still doing sound check. Well, we had people backed up four deep for half a mile waiting to get in, so we had to open the gates. Problem is, the band didn't want the seats open when they were doing sound check, so we had to keep them out.
There are two kinds of seats here- lawn seats, which are first come first serve, and pavillion seats, where every ticket has an assigned seat. The lawn seat people were all lined up at the entrances- it looked like Custer's last stand!
All of a sudden, someone decided to rush the lawn. And then everyone went. And when 20,000 people decide they want to move, there's nothing anyone can do to stop them
I just kind of rode the wave a little while until I could get to a point where I could jump over the seats and get back to my post. No bruises!

I hope it's still as nice tonight- one of two things could be true:
1) People will be as calm and as nice as they were last night.
2) People will be absolutely crazy because tomorrow is Independence Day, and they have off.
I'm hoping it's 1, but I'm planning for 2.
