I'm actually not that new, this is a second identity, because for some reason H2G2 suddenly stopped recognising me this afternoon. (In the middle of a session!) I'm trying to figure out some way of getting my origonal identity back... any ideas?

That happened to me too. I copied all of my information very carefully down on to a sheet of paper, which I still have, but for some reason I hadn't copied down my login name. h2g2 recognised me still for a bit (a week) but then I had to get a new identity-this one.

I still know my log in name (it's my name!) but it just won't remember me. This always happens to me, i'm just invisible to technology, automatic doors can never see me either, they just stay closed when i walk up to them or they close on me as i follow someone through.

Push them open. I tend to get really annoyed with things like that too. This Guide ML for instance. I've been fiddling around with it for two weeks and it still won't work properly...

There isn't an adiquate Guide ML dictonary is there. Check the marquee?e thread for some tips.

It's the sliding doors that are the worst (you can't push). And my burglar alarm. It doesn't go off when i go in, so i sit down and put the telly on, or someone follows me in, and the claxons begin a-ringing-o. I hate it. Maybe i should put on some weight.

I can do coloured text, and moving smileys, and headers, and if I want something special then I just cut-and-paste it. Cheating, I know. I don't have a burglar alarm, so I don't have to bother with it, but it is annoying when you approach a sliding door from the side and... it...refuses...to...admit...you...exist...

I see one of the lovely GAs has been working hard with you. Gotta love em! Thanks Nightshade.

Regarding the login- have you already merged it into your bbc login? If so you may want to log out of h2g2 AND bbc then log in from the bbc's home page and move to h2g2 from there. Can't help with the automatic doors except maybe to say enter with someone really big!

Regarding the guideML. Go to the link to the guideml clinic. I think there is a link somewhere along there for an actual editor out there, but it's not a WYSIWYG editor, but is along the lines of a CuteHTML for GuideML. Personally I'd love for one of the more brilliant ones to write a nice little add-on fro Dreamweaver that will do it.
