I hear you're a fan of JMS' masterpiece - me too. I bought virtually the entire series on VHS last summer but haven't got around to watching it yet (currently ploughing through my Doctor Who collection). I agree it was a fine, fine series even though studio interference screwed up the last two series a bit. (I notice also that Trek did rather rip it off rather a lot too.) Did you catch Crusade? What did you think?

Haven't seen much of it, but what I have seen was a bit hard to get into. Maybe I'll get the videos out and watch them again, might be better second time around. It's going to have to go some to beat the original Bab 5 though, some of my mates in RL are total Bab 5 nuts. One of them has all of the series, plus all of the films and a few books to boot. ( could this make him a "Babbie" ). Nice to "meet" you, check ya later.smiley - peacesignsmiley - biggrin Otter.

I haven't seen much, but it seemed to me that Crusade was pretty good when Peter Woodward was in it but almost unwatchably dull when he wasn't. It never quite seemed to gel for me. I think I've got all the movies too, come to think of it... what's the approved term for a B5 fan? A Babble-head? Hmmm.

smiley - flan at Otter for talking about me behind my back. Its enough to make a girl paranoid. Or should that be paranoid-er? if there is such a word.. anyway I digress..

Crusade... so much promise, so little delivered. I was a bit disapointed with it, but the first season of B5 was a bit wobbly, so I was willing to give it a while for thing to gel. Not that they ever go the chance to anyway smiley - sadface It took me a while to figure out what felt wrong about Crusade, and daft as it sounds, it's the music.

And a collective term for B5 fans? No idea... Babylonians? Maybe I'll go in on one of the B5 message boards and chuck that question at them. That could be quite amusing, some of them take it so seriously... hehehe smiley - devil

I'm not so sure about Crusade's actual potential. I can remember sitting down to watch Midnight on the Firing Line quite indifferently next to a friend of mine who was really excited about it... And at the end he said, 'Wow, that was poor, I'm sorry I made you sit through it.' And I said, 'Well, the episode wasn't brilliant but this is potentially a great series given the set-up.' And I stuck with it and he didn't. I didn't get that sense of great possibilities watching Crusade.

I think it's the bane of all these programmes that they attract a hard core of, erm, over-committed followers. A lot of people are put off watching good programmes because they have a whiff of the culty about them. And that's a shame all round.
