Absolutely, well done! It"s not as though it was supposed to be easy or it wouldn't be an achievement!

I've found the app to be really good, I like the way it plots your pace on a graph and your route on a map. I'm at a conference in Llandudno so running along the prom, then i'm off to Lisbon, so it will be a great way to explore the city.

smiley - coolsmiley - applause Good going!

I don't have any shiny apps like that, just using the mp3s off the NHS website and guessing the distances. Maybe I'll borrow a GPS again.

The app I use does a time, and then by the end you are nearly at 5k, I did my first 5k today including warm up, and that took 40

There are a few different couch-to-5ks, but they follow the same pattern, pretty much. You don't need to measure the distance, you can use time as the yardstick if it's handier.

I've done it a few times, but only actually finished it twice - then I backslid smiley - blush
But yeah, it does work if you stick with it - that's the hard part! So well done, Z. smiley - applause

I need to make running part of my daily routine, I feel so much better after I've done it. But I can't remember that feeling for more than 24 hours! Also I've entered a race, which should be useful.

smiley - laugh I know exactly what you mean. When you're out there running it really does make you feel great, and you think "bloody hell, I should do this all the time!"

Picking a race to aim towards is a great idea, though - it gives you a target to aim for and motivates you a lot.

Yes, because there are visible consequences if you don't!

I shouldn't have been overenthusiastic and started without reasonable shoes, though. My knees are really sore today; I had trouble getting up on the smiley - pony. (I nearly wrote "I had trouble mounting Charlie", but that would've sounded wrong. smiley - blush)

My knees are awkward customers, too. If I've been mean to them they soon let me know they disapprove. smiley - laugh

Secretly Not Here Any More

I mentioned going for a run to my mate the other day. His response:

"But your knees are made of biscuit."

It's a little pathetic that Fitocracy actually works to keep me motivated. I always feel guilty for not logging anything on a given day.

We've got a challenge for the h2g2 group at the moment, for who can climb the most stairs in a week.

Yes, I got an email about that. I work in a one story building. smiley - sadface

No, wait, I got that wrong. I live in a two storey house. I fail at counting to one. smiley - facepalm I would try to excuse myself by saying it's the American-British thing of 1st floor/2nd floor vs Ground floor/1st floor argument, but that's just an excuse.
