Some of you may have noticed I am slightly less fat than I used to be. In a mission to stay thin I have noticed that I enjoy running and have decided to do more of it. So a while back I decided to enter a 5k 'fun run' in December. Today was the 1st day I actually managed to run 5k without stopping though it was at a hopelessly slow pace. Still if I keep it up i should be able to get a respectable speed.

My Brother took up running, quite a few years ago now, and I think really it can become somewhat addictive... certianly he keeps it up, admixed with some gym stuff too nowdays (especially when its cold out)

Good job, Z!
I run a 5k almost every morning now and I never would have believed I could do it even once it you asked me a year ago. My method was to run until I couldn't breathe, walk until my breathing was normal, repeat until 5k is reached. Eventually, I was able to run the whole way. Now, I am trying to improve my speed using the same method.

That's wonderful -- both of you! I've always wanted to run, but I'd find excuses why I couldn't. The one I'm using now is that my hip hurts and I'm too old and fat anyway. I do need to get my walking going again, though. I can't believe how lazy I've gotten again.

I used to run. But my chests got in the way. So now I just walk.
Go, Z, go!

Go for it Z. Make sure you get some good footwear and advice on your running gait if you're going to take up lots of running.
I was asked by a msk podiatrist if I ran. I said no, she said that's good!
