Well, I've been putting off upgrading to AOL 8.0, but it has some anti-spam features I want, so I think I will take the plunge tonight. Wish me luck! If I'm not on later tonight, it means the download didn't go smoothly.

Well pooh! I got a message saying that my computer "does not meet the minimum requirements to run AOL 8.0." Wish they had said that in the first place, instead of sending me all this letters cajoling me to switch over. *exasperated*

Too bad! I actually ran a lot smoother on aol 6 than aol7. Have you tried that? The 7 is made for broadband. Mostly that is wasting a lot of graphics and room with fancy adverts!! Really! Try aol6 if you have not,MUCH better for a slow or older oneThis is my 3rd computer. The first two did better with 6.

Hmmm. I used to have 6.0, and I didn't notice any difference in speed when I switched over to 7.0.

My computer chugs along at a pretty decent pace, considering that it is dial up, and not roadrunner or broadband.
Whenever I have computer problems I just yell for my brother and he sorts them out. He's a good egg.

great then. It must of been a quirky thing for me then.
I have dial up too. The new computer makes it sail so I am putting off broadband for a while.

I dread the day when my computer either becomes obsolete or gives up the ghost. Maybe my brother will have another old one to pass along to me by then.

I bet he will. Once people get hooked they are always upgrading. There are used shops here that give a guarantee, anything like that there? I had a guy build mine, great deal. There are more and more folks doing that. Saturnine got one from the hootoo group, a joint effort!
Moose (I think)knows where old ones with some life left in them are.

Hi Abbi. You're back! I'm sitting here trying to find a cool way to incorporate Kea's "hidden" text into my personal space. I think I'm getting rather tired though, maybe I should sleep on it. But the part of me that is intrigued wants to stay up and fiddle with this.

I honestly think that computers will continue to improve,& that prices will keep going down. After 3 months of waiting for the monitor to work again,we decided to get a new computer set.It cost $656.00~ 2 yrs.ago, gary`s brother paid 1200.00$ for a computer set.The difference is that I now am using the computer;I never got into the old 1.
