I'm definately an addict!
No question.

I agree with Terri and Murray.
When something happens I usually want to come on here and tell everyone about it and it's much better than RL as far as intelligent conversations go. I barely talk to any RL "friends" anymore, just a select few.

I don't think it's too bad an addiction.
With everything that's been going on with me lately I think that if I didn't have hootoo as stress relief I'd be a total wreck rather than a partial wreck!smiley - laugh

I think this is probably one of the worlds healthiest addictions!smiley - ok

abbi normal "Putting on the Ritz" with Dr Frankenstein

I think it can be a healthy habit.

It has been a wonderful place for me to write during some of the hardest adult times I have had. Having 7 deaths in 14 months along with other "little deaths" I believe it has helped to keep me sane at times. I would have never thought I would write such personal stuff on a website but spreading all over the world seemed to dilute it while never able to deny it. I think it has been a very healthy thing overall.

It helped me to get over the stroke I had a year or so before.
It gave me an inlet and outlet I did not have but desperately needed.

I have made friends in a way I never would have imagined.
I was just thinking how much I have grown to care for some folks that I have never seen or talked to. Interesting and positive influenece overall. Very different than RL yet also RL. A surreal experience at times and all too real at times.

I began to be addicted at one point.
Ignoring things and creating more physical pain than rational but I got a better grip after a while. I always go too far with the things I enjoy then back up to a more reasonable level.

I used to enjoy more of a variety of places on h2 and that was a loss at first but it has been Ok with the overall time lost anyway.I'd prefer to talk to griends if I have to choose.

I do not spend nearly enough time here to keep up these days.
I have had to get over being sad and hope that just like the other parts of RL , most friends here will be able to accept me changing from time to time too.

It has also been a good thing at times to take a break from the place.
I feel that whatever your life is a break from the norm is a good thing from time to time. Call it a vacation or whatever , some do not enjoy vacations. Suits me anyway, and helps keep a fresher , sometimes more creative view of your personal norms.

Not addicted at this timesmiley - coffee
Attracted but not dependant on the site.
Healthily Dependant on some being friends!smiley - biggrin

Hello everybody! Right now I severely limit my online-time. A few years ago I got entirely too involved in stuff here on h2g2 and elsewhere on the internet, and it was not doing me any good. So I've cut back to only one day online per week ... Sunday, today. But I must say I rather miss having really meaningfull, long conversations with intelligent and interesting people ...

Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

(Dropping in late, after a week of 11 hour days down south)

Wild Swans is a stunning book. It was what inspired me to write my Cultural Revolution entry: A5141369 . And I really must pick up Jung Chang's biography of Mao again.

It made me realise the huge gap between us and parts of China, even now, and why it might be a case of 'never the twain shall meet' culturally - at least not in our lifetime.

Yeah...far too addictive. Sometimes you get tom thinking 'Do I really need to be involved in this thread?' I do tend tom use it as a bit of a refuge from work stress sometimes...when actually getting on with some work would be more useful in the longer term.

Wild Swans - Just a totally awesome, amazing book!
