Yes indeed! I saw a wonderful movie this week called Red Violin. It follows the "life" of one violin through many owners. The violin solos by Joshua Bell are extremely beautiful.

Laurie Anderson's "life on string" cd is beautifull too. in earlier cd's she just a lost of electronics, but "life of string" is very violin oriantated. Van Dyke Parks is one tracks.

I saw a Laurie Anderson concert film one time. I thought it was most interesting and very innovative.

I think it was "home of the brave". I saw it back in college. I remember very vividly her talking about how people are judged as being either ones or zeros. Either you're the best, number one, or you are nothing, that's the perception. But then she pointed out that in computer code, ones and zeros combine to create all kinds of things. Everything in fact. Was most interesting.
