Hi, Alberto, smiley - smiley

There are very few rules here. Write something if you like, or just wander around. You can visit people by clicking on their names (like mine above) or go to the site homepage by clicking the h2g2 symbol at the top left, which is full of useful links.

Plaguesvill is a wise and friendly person. You can find him at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/U117050.

It's nice to know there is technical help available. I shall come and see you when I'm in trouble.

In the mean time, enjoy the site.

Oh, and while I'm at it, if you don't have much time on your hands, the best thing to do is, when you can find a moment, click the Infinite Improbability Drive button on the front page. It does this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/RandomEditedEntry - taking you to something interesting, and unexpected, to read. This is a great way to get into the h2g2 spirit!

Whoami?

Discute? Is that half-way between 'discuss' and 'dispute'?

Have a virtual smiley - stout on me!

Several excuses, in italian we say "discutere" for "to discuss", then the mispell.
Now, all of you know, my english is cranky (cranky ? maybe another neologism, by the way does exists the "neologism" word in english ?).
I hope at least it was funny.

Woof !

I thought it was a good word! I mean, the english language needs on for a mid-point between dispute and discuss! Not one for between discuss and discus, though!

Whoami?

We could have a discute about discuses..maybe a dispucusion...or am i taking this to far...and I'm sure I've heard english people using the word Neologism...bu i have no idea what it means...perhaps they were just being pretentious and making up words...and they have no idea what it means either.

*puts on perfesser hat*

Harrumph.. 'neologism' means 'new word', or 'new expression'. It just sounds fancier to say neologism.. smiley - erm

h2g2 is replete with neologisms. We call them 'typos' smiley - biggrin

I see..oh !, now I remember, I wanted to mean "neurologism"...

By the way, Taliesin, if I don't bother you, the meaning of "to replete" is..

Welcome to h2g2!!!

Post 16

taliesin

No bother at all, my friend smiley - smiley

It would be more correct to say, 'to be replete'

'replete' is an adjective, and means 'filled', or 'full of' something, as in full of food or full of drink smiley - drunk You could say, 'After that fine pasta, I am replete' But the word is not in common use, and if you said it, people would regard you strangely.. or assume you were being smiley - silly.. or that you were an h2g2 researcher, and therefore smiley - weird

smiley - cheers

Ouch !

Zoing, an italian geek

I forgot to ask you the ultimate question, nonetheless.
Taliesin, what's the meanining of Taliesin ?

Thanks advanced a lot

The 'ultimate question?' LOL smiley - laugh

I wish I knew the ultimate question. I know the answer, as do all h2g2 researchers.. 42, of course smiley - winkeye

'Taliesin' is a name, like 'Zoing', and has more or less similar meaning.. smiley - erm... unless you are asking me for the name's origin... which is quite colourful, but too long to post here.. I keep meaning to do an article about it.......

smiley - cheers
