...and finds, a new friend!
I should stress I'm not bald....
Now then, "Stellar Magnitudes", can you give me a clue? The url maybe? I can contact the author for you, or at least show you what to do.
Yes, you definately did the right thing, signing up to h2g2.
I guarantee you won't regret it.
Well, you met me, didn't you?
And where else on the 'net will you find suchsmileys?
look at these:
Hope to see you around

Thank you for your interest, Galaxy Babe.
I did get a few replies to my initial query about 'Stellar Magnitudes' aka A461972.
I also came across an article on Bubble Wrap which was interesting but my partner now wants to know how the stuff is made. She wasn't falling for my story about little girls in south east Asia having to blow bubbles and stick them between two sheets of cellophane. How would I go about finding such an answer?
I like the smileys - how can I add them into my text? Also, If I'm halfway through a posting and need to look elswhere on the website for a reference, how can I hold onto my half posting? I lost the first few so now I write them in a text editoe and cut and paste them.
Gotta go - Star Trek, you know.
Peace.

Hi John Luke
I'll get back to you on the bubblewrap
The smileys:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/guide/smiley
that takes you to the page, where you can learn how to type them, or better still, make a list.
They are all typed the same way, ie is: < schooloffish > {without the spaces}.
< magic > makes
< choc > makes
Easy when you know how
The ordinary smileys: smiley, winkeye, big eyes, fish, sad face :

Thanks for that. You left out the 'h2g2' before 'Guide'() but I found it anyway and am currently printing out a list for future reference. Strangely there was no smiley (that I could see) for 'Thank you', surely quite a frequent emotion, as now.
I'm having a busy weekend what with flying back and forth to Indianopolis to assist Michael Schumacher to win yet another F1 race. It's very tiring but rewarding also. He has just set pole in qualifying.
Ta Ra for now.
Peace

It's me again. The printing of the list of Smileys went well except that only one of the actual smileys from 'Bruised' to 'Kiss' inclusive showed up on paper and that was . All the others from 8) to came out OK. I tried it three times and got the same result each time. Any ideas?
Peace

Oh my!
I missed out the h2g2?
I must have had a brain storm!
I'll have to see if I can find you someone who knows about printing out smileys, I don't own a printer.
I wrote mine out manually...
Be back with help, hold on.
For "thank you" there's the sign or just post a

If you want to find something else in the guide at the sametime a writing just open a new browser window. Either double click on the desktop icon again or go to the file menu and click on new.

Hi again John Luke.
Mistdancer tells me that you need to go into IE options, and tell it to ignore the background colour when printing. Then print it out in Classic Goo.
Good luck!

If you have word 97 or later, select the whole article, copy and paste it, and then it should print fine...

S'pe;lug:x - you seem to know your stuff about h2g2! If you haven't already, and you want to, go and recommend yourself to be a Guru. I'll second it, if you tell me.

Well, I have a 21" monitor already, so short of a movie screen, I don't think it's going to get much bigger!!!!
