I'm sorry that there seems to be an inordinate amount of US-bashing going on.. Some is just the usual griping and fault-finding, typical of any group composed of rather intellectual types.. and some is downright mean, and uncalled for, and just plain wrong. Put it down to the anxiety of the times.

Personally, I have a few gripes about American policies, but I have just as many, if not more, about the policies of my own country, Canada. I don't know too much about the policies of Britain, or many other countries, but I would probably bitch about them, too, given half a chance.

I believe most of the people on this site are good hearted, even if some of them seem irascible at times.

You really are among friends, here, even though many of them would argue with you, and get ticked off with you, and you with them.. We are all mostly harmless..
