YOU THREW A BUS AT ME AND NOW REVENGE THURSDAY
MWAHAHA THURSDAY
EvilClaw: The Catmanthing Posted Jun 2, 2006
You know. I never actually threw a bus at you. And though I killed you three times... somehow... none of it was intentional.

THURSDAY
MWAHAHA THURSDAY
EvilClaw: The Catmanthing Posted Jun 2, 2006
Yelling thursday does not an argument make. What you need to do is throughly research the issue, cite other related legal cases, and carefully and calmly explain why Thursday should remain. Remember, the negative has the burden of disproving the affirmative.

well first 99.9999999999999999999999999999999% of the population use the word thursday
it ends in ay and can be put in poetry
thing sucks
MWAHAHA THURSDAY
EvilClaw: The Catmanthing Posted Jun 2, 2006
Using the argument "thing sucks" makes yourself appear childish and is not a valid argumentation strategy.
Your first one was good except focused too much on the exact decimal when you could have just said "over 99% of the world uses Thursday instead of Thing. Why then should it be changed?" You could have gone into an appeal to tradition. Bear in mind however, that appeal to tradition can be dismissed as a fallacy of argumentation.
The second argument: That Thursday ends in ay and can be put in poetry is irrelevent. You've offered no evidence that "ay" is superior or even desirable and Thing can also be used in poetry for it also rhymes. Thing, sing, ding, bing, king, ming.
Therefore the only argument that stands is the fact that most of the world uses it.

Thing: A haiku
Fifth day of the week.
Thing's best in every way.
It easily beats Thursday.
Thank you, thank you

THATS NOT A HAIKU
HAIKU
first line 5 sylabelles

3rd lin 5 sylabelles
YOUR RUBBISH THING
first line 5 sylabelles
second line 5 sylabbeles
3rd lin 7 sylabelles

EvilClaw: The Catmanthing Posted Jun 2, 2006
Only if you pronounce easily as three syllables. The way I talk, I pronounce it as one
But we're getting off topic. I've argued that ability to be used in a poem is irrelevant to a days usefulness. Your response?

EvilClaw: The Catmanthing Posted Jun 2, 2006
I don't understand a thing you just said
Regardless of my inability to haiku-nate up this thread it still stands that ability to be used in a poem is not neccessary for a day of the week and therefore your argument should be disregarded. Any rebuttal?

I knew kiwi spoons were dangerous! General Woundwort lied to me! Only he said that it was dogs that weren't dangerous.
Anyway, I guess you don't understand the conventions of formal debate. Thats alright though. I can explain it to you in long and boring fashion. Y'see I'm a studier of communications.
